2nd Grade Curriculum
Uniform Policy
•Students must wear the uniform EVERYDAY•Shirts should be tucked in at all times• Only Green sweaters or jackets will be allowed•Black or White sneakers only•Uniform is MANDATORY•3 warnings = a referral
Uniform Policy Cont.On Fridays:
Students may wear BLUE jeans with the school polo, or school t-shirt for $1.00. (no sandals, jean shorts or capris are allowed.)
On Field Trips:Students may wear BLUE jeans with the CURRENT Friday school t-shirt or the school polo. Bulldog Shirts may be purchased in the front office for $12.
Special Events: If a special event arises where students do not need to wear the school uniform, parents will receive a written notice from the school and/or teacher. Unless notice is received you must send your child to school with the COMPLETE uniform.
Students that do not meet the uniform requirements will receive a notification. A referral will be issued for every 3 notifications.
What are we learning this year?
•Reading: Comprehension, Vocabulary, Phonics, Non-Fiction Text Features, Poetry•Math: Addition, Subtraction, Place Value, Measurement, Time•Science: Planets, Matter, Helping the Environment•Social Studies: Elections, Communities, Citizenship

this time only.
Homework Policies & Procedures
•Homework will be given Monday - Thursday.
•Friday’s homework will consist of Reading Passage and Reading log.
•Homework packets will be given every Monday morning.
•Homework will be checked daily for completion, however complete packet will be collected every Monday Morning.
•Reading Log MUST be filled in and completed daily (with parent signature) Myon.com is permitted as Reading for the day.
•Spelling & Vocabulary Words are VERY important to be studied throughout the week with homework given.

*Conduct Grades are based on student compliance with the classroom rules.*Behavior Chart is sent home weekly, but if student is on Parent Contact the parent will be advised within 24-48 hours via email or phone call.

Attendance Policies
School starts at 8:15 a.m. If students are not in the classroom by the time the announcements start, please check in at the school office before coming to class for a tardy slip.-After 10 Excused Absences only a doctors note will be accepted.-Your child will receive a referral for any of the following:10 Tardies3 Unexcused Absences5 Unexcused Early dismissals.
It is VERY important that your child comes to school everyday. If they cannot attend or must leave early, send a note when your child returns to school. Notes submitted more than 3 days after your child’s return to school will not be accepted.

• Tests: 50%• Quizzes/Classwork: 25%• Projects: 15%• Technology: 5%• Homework: 5%
• Students' and their families are to partake in 30 volunteer hours for the year. There are many different ways to complete these hours:
• - Parents can join in on class field trips throughout the year• - Parents can come into class to assist the teacher with activities
and/or tasks• - Parents can bring in gift cards from stores (Get Smart, Ace
School Supplies, Target, Office Max, Office Depot, Staples, Walmart, etc.)
• - Parents can donate any items from Wish List (available online)
Volunteer Hours
• Scholastic magazine sent once a month• May order online using the code PBBLZ• Accept orders in class with completed order form
