TRANSITION FROM MIDDLE SCHOOL TO HIGH SCHOOL → GRADING / AVERAGES
PSAT INFORMATION• Oct. 10th - students will take the PSAT 8/9. This test will be given to all
freshmen (registration is not necessary).
• Purpose:
• The PSAT is an introduction to the College Board SAT. It will test the
same skills and knowledge as the SAT, but it is designed for freshmen grade
level.
• It’s a baseline measurement of college and career readiness. It will also give
students a chance to preview for the first time what a College Board test
will look like.
• Students receive valuable feedback from their scores in order to prepare
for the official PSAT which is given in 10th and 11th grade.
• The PSAT 8/9 is used to help identify student potential for Pre-AP/AP
classes. The results of this test will not be used for a grade nor will it affect
any placement or program you may or may not want to participate in.
Test date:
October 10th
