• Students learn in a hands on environment

• This program is run as a business which requires students from different disciplines to get involved

• Algoma School District is in charge of the program

• Our primary role is to educate and mentor

• Students are learning design and programming software:• Solidworks• MasterCAM

This program gives students opportunities that they would not normally receive until after graduation from high school. We are

proud to be part of such an enriched program as it will develop some amazing

manufacturing talent. In the first six months of this program we were able to

hire three graduating seniors to our team.

THE RED BIN GREEN BIN SYSTEMAt the beginning of each shift an operator takes a green bin in which to place only certified products that he/she has made. There is also a red bin staged in their work area for non-conforming products to be placed. At the completion of their shift they turn in their green bin with product and an inventory tag

which is reviewed by quality. Once accepted the products are put in a controlled storage area until all products on the order are complete.
