Typically read 20 minutes per day, 1 math sheet, + Vocabulary (see next slide).

Science, Social Studies & Reading will vary. Basic Math Facts (addition, subtraction, multiplication,

division). - flashcards at Dollar Store.

Reading Curriculum

Study text through the use of textbook, short stories, and novel studies (Wizard of Oz, Number the Stars, Jackie & Me, Hatchet, Holes).

One book report will be assigned each nine weeks.

Many small-group activities. Book-It! Program - October - March

(sponsored by Pizza Hut).

Final Notes

MAPs Testing 3x this year - Round 1 next week Field Trips - To be determined. Information to follow.

Will go to MSIC and YMCA for Water Safety. PEAK Program - six lessons with Officer Hobbs. SOL Tests:

Writing - Beginning of March (2 day test). Reading, Math, Science - End of year test. All multiple choice tests are on-line.

Conferences - First week of November (schedule TBD).
