If Manoah’s yet to be born child could answer his daddy’s question to the angel of God, wonder what words he’d use to tell his wishes for his future? The question was, “Tell me what we shall do for the child?” Perhaps he’d say seven things. First, show me the difference between the spiritual and the material with the emphasis on the spiritual. Our sister, Jane Young, wanted to share this article with us from brother Jim Bill McInteer, written years ago, speaking about seven principles that fathers should teach their children.

If Manoah’s yet to be born child could answer his daddy’s question to the angel of God, wonder what words he’d use to tell his wishes for his future? The question was, “Tell me what we shall do for the child?”

Perhaps he’d say seven things. First, show me the difference between the spiritual and the material with the emphasis on the spiritual. Second, always love my mother and be there with the whole family. Third, explore whatever talents and aptitudes I may have and help me develop them. Fourth, show me and demonstrate before me the value and honor of genuine work and its rewards. Fifth, lead an honorable life so that as I wear your name, I may do it with thanksgiving for your example. Sixth, instruct me in the values of and privilege of citizenship in this great country of my birth. And seventh, be lovingly near to help me in the struggle of growing up and later taking a proper place gainfully blessed in the society where I live.

For those of us who had dads who taught us these and further principles we rejoice in remembering one we love on Father’s Day. --- Jim Bill McInteer

May God bless you on this special day as we remember, spend time with, and love on these special men in our lives. Happy Father’s Day!

THANKS“Bellevue Church of Christ,We want to thank you for the flowers, food, cards and many acts of kindness shown us at the death of my mom, Eunice Jackson. We appreciate all those who came to the funeral home and funeral. We are blessed to have such a caring church family.”

“Dear Bellevue Church family,Words can never express how much we love Bellevue Church. George was so happy here and you made him feel so loved and welcome more than any

place I know. Thank you so much for all the help, food and precious visitors who came to honor him. The cards have been overwhelming. The help I received in moving and transportation during my hard time when he was in the hospital was above and beyond. It showed how Bellevue Church of Christ is a servant in our community. “
