The first stop is the Visitor Services desk at the Nature Center. You will be greeted at the desk, given a map of the trails, and find out about upcoming programs and what other visitors have seen recently.

Nature Center hours are Tuesday-Friday 9am –5pm, Saturday, Sunday, & Monday holidays 10am -5pm.

While you are in the building, you can use our restrooms which have composting toilets—these may seem different from your toilet at home because they do not use water or a flush handle.

The drinking fountain is also a filling station if you bring your own water bottle.

Trail conditions vary with the season. Trails may have snow or ice in winter.

The sanctuary is big. Places to visit and learn about are spread out.

Sometimes there is a lot of walking.

On weekdays there may be small or large groups of children visiting. On weekends, especially Sundays, there can be hundreds of visitors of all ages at a time.

There are wooden boardwalks and bridges, some trails are narrow with roots and rocks to step over. At times there may be muddy areas of trails.

Over ½ mile of trail is wide, covered in crushed stone, and accessible to most people.

There are many different types of wildlife living on the sanctuary.

Broadmoor is a fun and interesting place to visit. There is always a lot to see and do.
