Canada is just so big!
• Canada is the biggest country in the world, after Russia.
• France is 18 times smaller than Canada.• The french population is twice the canadian
population.

• A red maple leaf is in the middle of the Canadian national flag.

• Winters are very long and cold. • The weather is often snowy.• Clothes are very warm.
Native People
• The first nations were named Indians by the European people when they « discovered » Canada.
• Various Native people live in Canada today.

Big cities
• Toronto is the largest city in Canada. You can see the CN Tower, one of the world’s tallest towers. (553 metres)
• Ottawa is the capital of Canada. In front of parliament building, you can meet policemen on horseback. They are members of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The Canadian call them « Mounties ».

• Montreal is the second biggest French- speaking city, after Paris.
• In the province of Quebec, most of the people living here speak French.
• English and French are both national languages, even if English-speaking people are a large majority.
