READING AND COMMUNICATION

•Encourage reading newspapers, books which are of interest to your child

•Create conversations with your child everyday e.g: it can be on a topic that interests them

•Encourage the use of sentences with accurate structures when they speak

•Ask for their opinions/thoughts on e.g: certain topics/issues

•Encourage them to practice using the SEP (State, Elaborate, Personal Experience) when they are sharing their thoughts

SITUATIONAL WRITING

• Can be in the form of emails, letters, reports, etc.

• Pupils are marked on Task Fulfilment and Language & Organisation

• Pupils need to keep in mind Purpose, Audience and Context in their writing to address the situation given in the question.

• Pupils need to be vigilant in including complete details required by the question.

• Time management – maximum of 20 minutes . This to ensure there is enough time left over for the Continuous Writing component of Paper 1.

Math in Real Life Get your child to help you in:

• shopping budget

• food preparation (a lot of Math involved in this)

• figuring out distance, time and cost for travel

corrections or worksheets to be signed. Ensure availability of computer for online work
