Promotion RequirementsIn order to be promoted to the 7th grade, students must

pass 4 out of 5 classes (two of which must be language arts and math).

We have very high expectations of what students should make on the reading and language arts portion of the CRCT. 850 and above is exceeds , and we would really like all of our students to be in this range.

In the 8th grade, they are required to pass a state writing test in order to be promoted to high school. We continue to develop and expand what students have learned in elementary school. To asset instruction, we give 3 practice writing tests throughout the year.

Reading

Students must be reading DAILY.

Studies have shown that the more students read, the better they perform in school- not only on standardized tests but in classes as well.

Reading daily also impacts their writing!!

Reading Logs will be scored EVERY FRIDAY as a classwork grade.
