TRYOUT INFORMATION
Thank you for your interest in trying out for an Eagles Elite Cheer team! Your
participation in tryouts indicates that you are prepared to accept the commitment to Eagles
Elite Cheer and that you trust the organization and staff to do what is in the best interest of the
team and the program.
We try to make the tryout atmosphere as relaxed and comfortable as possible. In order
to accomplish this, tryouts will be closed and only athletes and staff will be allowed in the
building during the evaluation process. The absence of an audience alleviates the added stress
and helps the staff properly and thoroughly evaluate all athletes.

PRACTICE AND ATTENDANCE POLICIES
Practice
All practices are mandatory. Once teams are formed, you will receive the practice
schedule. Practices may be changed and/or added throughout the season at any time. If
practice is altered, you will be notified in a timely manner.
Please understand we are building championship teams. If any team member
disrespects their teammates, coaches, or the facility by continuous tardiness, lack of desire, or
commitment, the Eagles Elite Cheer staff reserves the right to implement disciplinary actions.
Practice Attire
Practice attire shall consist of comfortable fitting clothes (i.e. athletic top/bottoms) and
a practice cheer shoes for every practice. Hair must be in a high ponytail and away from the
face. No jewelry, nails must be cut to short length, no baggie clothes or hooded sweatshirts,
and no outside shoes.
Uniform
The competition uniform consists of Rebel shorts and top with a hair accessory. A white
cheer shoes of your choice is required and is not included in the registration. Uniform fittings
for all athletes will be in early September. It is extremely important to follow all cleaning
instructions. All new and returning athletes requiring new items should attend a fitting date to
be resized. Any athlete requiring replacement items are required to pay for items at time of
ordering. The uniform is approximately $180.00 plus shipping. We require a 75% deposit at
the time of fittings and the remaining balance is due at the time of ordering in early October.
We do offer fundraising opportunities to help offset the uniform cost.
9
ATTENDANCE/ABSENCE POLICY
We understand there are circumstances that may be unavoidable, but keep in mind this is a
TEAM sport that is unlike any other because there are no back-ups or a “second string.” Attendance at
practice is essential to the success of the squads. Every team member has a specified function, and one
absence could disrupt the effectiveness of practice. Below are a few guidelines regarding Eagles Elite
Cheer’s attendance policy.
1. All practices, events, exhibitions, competitions and any function of Eagles Elite Cheer are
mandatory.
2. Competitions are held on Saturdays and Sundays. Our competition season begins in
December and ends in May. Any athlete with a regularly scheduled activity that can not
be missed should reconsider participating in our program.
3. The following are excused absences from Eagles Elite Cheer activities:
-Family emergency or death in the family
-School function that results in a grade
-Illness is only excused with a note from the athlete’s doctor. If your child has a non-
contagious illness, he/she is still required to be at practice.
-Religious obligation
4. The following are examples of unexcused absences:
-Birthday parties, weddings, anniversaries, family celebrations, etc.
-Activities including but not limited to soccer, volleyball, basketball, band, dance,
headaches, cramps, softball, etc. If a conflict with other sports or activities arises, the
athlete must choose before the season begins with the exception to High School sports
schedules. If an athlete is in High School, please submit all practice and game/events
schedules once received from such programs.
5. In the case that your athlete will be absent from an Eagles Elite Cheer practice or event,
please make the head coach aware as soon as possible.
6. Excessive unexcused or excused absences will result in the athlete being pulled from any
upcoming performance or competition at the discretion of the coaching staff. If the
problem persists, we may also elect to suspend the athlete to an alternate position or
remove the athlete from the Eagles Elite Cheer program.
Summer/Fall
The summer months of June-August will be used as a time for the athletes to improve their skills
and condition before choreography. We know families use the summer as a time for relaxing
and enjoying other activities such as vacations and camps. Open practice is mandatory if you
are in town. If you know you will be missing open practice due to vacation, please notify the
appropriate coaching staff. There will be mandatory choreography the weekends of
September 14th and 15th and again September 21st and 22nd. There are absolutely NO
ABSENCES at choreography.
10
Injury
Unfortunately, injuries can occur in this sport. If an injury happens, the athlete is still
expected to attend practice and every other commitment to the program (including
competitions). All injuries must be documented with a doctor’s note. The athlete will
be expected to participate unless a doctor’s note is provided with restrictions or if the
coach feels it is necessary for the athlete to sit out. The athlete will not be able to
return to the squad until he/she has healed 100% and/or cleared by doctor to return. If
an injury occurs, there is a possibility the athlete’s spot in the routine could be changed.

Bid will be expected to compete at U.S. Finals in Virginia Beach. Any team that does not

additional per athlete entry fee will be due for all teams with no Gold Bid. There is
always a possibility dates and venues may change due to scheduling conflicts. The

11
PARENT INVOLVEMENT
We would not have the success we have today if it were not for the dedicated and
supportive parents. We want every parent to feel comfortable and informed about his/her
child, therefore; we make every effort to keep the lines of communication open. It is the
parents’ responsibility to know what is always going on with the program. Group Me is our
primary source of communication so please make sure to check it daily. Several other methods
we use to communicate important information are:
• Website/Social Media
• Monthly parent meeting
Please follow these procedures for communication unless there is an emergency that requires immediate attention. Interruptions during practice are unacceptable and can distract the athletes from concentrating on the task at hand. No parents, family members, or friends are allowed on the mat for any reason unless enrolled in a class. If your child is hurt, we will notify you if needed. The gym is a place for coaches and athletes only. It is a liability if a parent goes onto the mat because of the risk of someone (including the parent) getting injured. Once choreography is completed all practices are closed. The last 15 minutes of practice is when we will allow parents to come in and watch the routines. Parents are not allowed to spot anyone including their own children on Eagles Elite Cheer property. It is also unsafe to do so at home. There is also absolutely no unsupervised tumbling allowed in the gym without a coach present. Perfection before progression is the key to obtaining great technical skills. We will not allow children to move on to advanced skills without perfecting the basics, and both athletes and parents need to be patient and remember that you are paying for the process of achieving goals. As a parent you will not agree with every decision we make. The board and coaches make all decisions for the interest of the entire team and program. All rules and regulations will be strictly enforced. You must be willing to trust the program and coaches. We hope our philosophies and past accomplishments will give you confidence while being a part of the Eagles Elite Cheer Family.
PARENT LIAISON
Eagles Elite Cheer has a parent liaison that will serve as the communicator between the parents and
coaches. The parent liaison will conduct the monthly parent meetings and relays important information
to the parents. If there is a situation or concern from a parent regarding their athlete or the team the
said parent will not involve or discuss their situation with other parents, but rather the parent liaison
who will then address the concern with the appropriate coaches or board. If a concern or situation
arises during a competition, please allow 24 hrs. after the competition before reaching out to the parent
liaison. Please remember the day of competitions, the coaches need to focus on their team and the
program. They should never be distracted with side concerns as this could impact the athletes and
their overall performance
12
FUNDRASING INFORMATION
Eagles Elite Cheer is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and, as such, we rely on
fundraising and individual and personal donations to pay all costs not covered by the
registration fee. Your participation in the fundraisers is a necessity for the success of our
organization. Some of the fundraisers we have offered include:
R&K Sub Sale Mums Sale Whoopie Pie Sale Mr. Ed’s Fudge Sale
