PersonalTo you and your family

Everything we do at edyn.care is tailored to your needs. We create and update bespoke Care Plans for all our care recipients. They are reviewed at least every three months.

Our Care Plans are completed during your Care Assessment - when our Head of Care visits the care recipient’s home to discuss their needs in detail. They are holistic in nature and not only establish care requirements, but information about client’s lives as well. Our carers are given access to Care Plans, so they know everything about the individual they are caring for and how best to tailor their care to them. Relatives of a care recipient can access the Care Plan online and see updates in real time. Once your tailored Care Plan is created, we connect you with our carers through our smart connection, which takes into account care needs, as well as interests, personality traits and location. By connecting our carers and clients in this way, we are able to create long-lasting harmonious relationships.

ProfessionalIn service and consistency

All our carers go through our rigorous and comprehensive recruitment process. We believe that quality is more important than quantity.

Our carers receive both online and in-person training, attending a two and a half day induction with our in-house care trainer. During the induction, carers study a range of distinct modules, such as safeguarding, mobility, and personal care; each one guided by edyn.care’s policies and procedures, which are in line with the Care Quality Commission's (CQC) guidelines. Our two and a half day induction also allows us to find out more about our carers’ interests and hobbies. This information is key to our service, as we connect our carers and clients according to both care needs and interests using our smart algorithm. Unlike many tech-enabled home care companies, we are registered with the CQC (and even have the ex-chairman on our advisory team). As such, we are qualified to give advice on care, draw up our own bespoke care plans and manage our clients’ care.

ProactiveIn delivery

Our thoughtful technology enables us to monitor the care and service our carers provide. It also allows us to predict and address health issues before a problem arises.

At each visit, our carers check-in to let us and our clients know that they have arrived safely at the care recipient’s home. During a visit, our carers have access to the client’s digitised Care Plan, as well as the support that needs to be provided and input boxes for health and wellness data. Your Care Specialist at edyn.care can see all this information in real time to ensure that care is effectively being delivered. Once a carer has finished their visit, they check-out and we are informed that they have safely left the building. Unlike other care agencies, we continue to support you after your carer has been selected.

Using wellness scores and technology, we can foresee and address health issues before a problem arises. We are developing machine-learning technology that uses the care data collected by our carers to proactively address care recipients’ issues, such as deterioration in mood, rising pain levels and increasing blood pressure. Being responsive and able to foresee potential problems, we can escalate and take necessary action i.e. arrange for a client to see a doctor.

Your care team

Providing consistency and transparency

We provide each one of our clients with their own dedicated care team who stay with you throughout your time with us. This team is comprised of Carers, a Care Specialist and a Care Manager.

We believe in continuity of care at edyn.care, which is why we build a team fit for your needs. Each member of your care team is carefully vetted and has completed our two and a half day induction training to ensure they provide the highest quality care. We also provide ongoing training to ensure they’re continually learning and honing new skills.

Your dedicated care specialist supports you and answers any questions you may have regarding the logistics of care or financial matters. Your dedicated care manager is available to chat regarding medical concerns and visits you and your family on request, as well as every three months.

Whether you require care just a few hours a week or full-time live-in care, it is important you consider how to cover the cost of care.

Unlike the NHS, which is free at the point of need, it is more than likely that you will have to contribute a proportion of the care costs when receiving home care. However, the government does have some options to help ease the burden.

Our Philosophy and strategy is guided by our care advisory team, made up of leading figures in the United Kingdom’s Care Industry and buiness. Their experience and insight sets our direction.

edyn.care was set up by two friends Jonny Bottomley and Oliver Ross, who used to work in the city and in health before leaving to start edyn.care. It was their own poor personal experiences of arranging care that urged them to build their own company. Rita Malone, Head of Care, joined early on and has over 20 years experience in the industry and leads on ensuring quality of care.

How does edyn.care attact the best carers?

It means a lot that you’re considering our service. Together, we can help you take control of your care + well-being and we promise to do all we can to provide you with a brilliant home care service.

Being a tech-enabled company means we cut out much of the wasteful bureaucracy that plagues the traditional home care agency. This means we pay our carers above the National Living Wage and provide comprehensive training support. By empowering and professionalising the care sector, we attract the best carers.

What background checks do carers complete?

Our rigorous background checks means that we ensure quality and safety. We require all our carers to complete enhanced DBS checks, while we also meet all our carers in person during our two and a half day induction.

How can I pay for my care?

All payments are made through your portal on our website, via a debit or credit card - we currently only accept these options as payment. Payments are processed via our secure third party payment system Stripe, which holds your card details securely and in an encrypted format. We will receive our commission directly and the carers will receive their fee directly from you. We do not hold any card or account details.

How often do you bill?

Invoices are submitted fortnightly on Monday afternoon. All invoices are based on actual work done and not forecasts, as we realise that care needs can and do change at short notice.

Payments are taken automatically on Tuesday afternoon or the day after an invoice is submitted to you. In the event of any query or discrepancy, we will pause any pending payments. If payments have already gone through before you submit a query that payment can be refunded. However, we strongly encourage all customers to check their invoices straight away to avoid any delays or difficulties making the required adjustments.

Where does edyn.care provide services?

We currently provide care across London and live-in care across the United Kingdom. We are constantly expanding, so please do get in contact if you live elsewhere.

I am unsure how many hours of care I require, can you help me with this?

Certainly, our care specialists and care managers work with you to assess your needs and the level of care you require. Together, we can ensure you receive the right care, at the right time.

I want to retain my independence and worry having a carer will hinder this?

From organising care for our own families, we understand the importance of independence. That’s why our care specialists and care managers work together with you to ensure you receive the right level of support for your needs and never impose care on you.

Should I meet my carer before booking a visit?

It is completely up to you. We would recommend you arrange an interview with your carer by phone to get to know them better or, if you’d like, we can arrange a meet-up.

How do I ammend a booking?

Simple. Either speak with your care specialist on the phone or login in to your portal, where you’ll be able to see all future bookings and make any necessary changes there.

Do I need to be able to use technology?

No, not at all. We just use technology effectively with our carers and as a company. Most of our clients are not tech inclined and it does not affect the level of support they receive. However, if you are interested in learning, our carers are more than happy to help you. Remember your care specialist is available to help whenever, so just call.

Can I cancel my care?

Yes, we are made to be flexible. However, in the interests of our carers, we do ask for 48 hours to cancel a booking, unless there are unforeseen circumstances.

Will I have the same carer each visit?

Using smart technology we are able to deliver consistent and transparent care. We believe in building long-term relationships between our carers and clients. Therefore, we work hard to provide clients with the same carer each time. If your carer is unavailable - due to holiday or illness, for example - we will arrange for a similar carer to step in. We always ensure all relevant information is passed over in good time to ensure a seamless handover.

Thank you for helping us select such a fantastic carer. She has been a stunning success and Mum and Dad are both so appreciative. Her manner is understated but entirely professional. She is warm and has rapidly won Mum’s trust.
