Current Fulton County Schools Students21-22 SY Course Selections:

• Follow current school’s registration process for next school year.• Current teachers will enter course recommendations for core courses.• Students will be placed in six virtual courses that align with the courses they are scheduled for in their current school.

21-22 SY Course Verification:• FAVE course verifications will be sent via email no later than 4/22.• Parents/Students must submit final schedule change requests to FAVE by 4/30 via the FAVE Schedule Change Request Form.

• Parents/Students will complete the FAVE Virtual Course & Elective Selection Survey by 4/16.• Submit official transcript/report card.• Gather course recommendations from student's current core teachers using the Teacher Recommendation Form for FAVE Enrollment

School Counseling

37FAVE will be assigned 2 School Counselors- (1 for grades 3rd-8th and 1 for grades 9th-11th)

School counselors are tasked with supporting and developing students in the area of academics, college/career, and social emotional development. Through the implementation of a data driven comprehensive school counseling program, school counselors provide:

Direct Student ServicesDirect services are in-person interactions between schoolcounselors and students and include the following:

• Classroom Lessons• Small Group Counseling• Individual Counseling• Academic Advisement• College/Career Planning

Indirect Student ServicesIndirect services are provided on behalf of students as a resultof the school counselors’ interactions with others including:

• Consultation• Collaboration• Referrals

Student Success Skills

Student Success Skills (SSS) consist of six standards aimed atdeveloping students in the area of Social Emotional Learning(SEL)

The six Student Success Skills standards are taught by all teachers to allstudents using ReThink, an online platform that covers:

• Self-Awareness• Self-Management• Collaborative Problem Solving• Reflective Learning Strategies• Sense of Belonging• Social Competence

FAVE students will have the opportunity to engage in SEL duringtheir advisement period 2-4 times a week.

The FAVE Teachers as Advisors Program organizes teachers and students into small groups in order to:

• provide personalized instruction and advising.• ensure every fulltime virtual student is assigned to one trusted adult.• assists with making sure all student needs are being met in the areas

of academics, college/career and social emotional development.

FAVE Teachers as Advisors Program is delivered through an advisement period:

• 9th Grade- 3 days per week• 10th-11th Grade- 2 days per week• SSS, School Counseling Lessons/Meetings, Teachers as Advisors

• The Deputy Chief Academic Officer will make a recommendation to the Chief Academic Officer and Superintendent based on all information gathered. (e.g. Survey, Interview Committee feedback and other data).

• The candidate will have the opportunity for a 1x1 interview with the Superintendent and Chief Academic Officer which assesses: – Readiness for the Principal Position– Fit within FCS Vision and Values

• The Superintendent makes the final decisions regarding a recommendation for hire to the Board for approval.
