Our services are always recorded so you can catch up on all FUMC services at www.fishersvilleumc.org/sermon- archive/ 7. Devotional Book We are still collecting indi- vidual prayers for our FUMC devotional book! You may collect new forms at the receptionist desk if needed, but feel free to also email or mail your prayers to the Church Office! Please include your childrens prayers as well! We are still currently at receiving roughly 80% of $15,000 needed and about 180 prayers total, so please keep sending in your prayers and pray- ing to see if you would be able to support going forward! As always, please contact the Church Office if you have any questions! 9. Help Needed! Our FUMC Child Development Center pre- school downstairs is hiring for multiple positions for this Summer and into the Fall! 18+ with child care experience is preferred. Morning and afternoon shifts are both available. In addition to the paid positions, the CDC is also looking for volunteers who are 25+ in age to help with student pickup by riding or driving in the church van on weekdays @ 3pm starting in August. Typically this job takes about 30 minutes and the van will be returning to the parking lot by 3:30. Getting more volunteers is vital for us as we attempt to keep our after-school program fully staffed and operational. If you or anyone else you know if qualified and looking for a position, please reach out to Robyn today! (540)779-0643 3. FUMC Homecoming Lord! Heal Us Again! All FUMC friends, family, congregants, and community members are wel- come to join us for a time of fun and coming together in the name of cele- bration and the love of Jesus! Saturday, Septem- ber 11 from 3pm 8pm outside at the picnic shelter Food, fun, commu- nity focus, Gospel concert, revival, and more! You DO NOT want to miss this! 8. FCN Corner: NERVE Thursday Programs The Nursing Ministry at FUMC through the Faith Community Nurse Pro- gram is now going to begin weekly programs under the acronym N.E.R.V.E. (Nursing, Education, Referrals, Validation, and Everything else health related). NERVE is going to kick off 2021 with Thursday afternoon programs tai- lored to meet the needs of congregation members. To begin, we will be scheduling a learning session which will be followed by an exercise pro- gram, both lasting about an hour combined. Happening every Thursday at 1pm. On August 12 @ 1pm, interested participants will meet in the Dotson Lounge for a presentation on Stroke Prevention and Treatment, followed by a short-30 minute walk. If you are interested in attending or have any ques- tions about the NERVE ministry, please feel free to call or emil the Church Office or speak to our FCN Jane Ott directly and well be happy to help! A calendar of other upcoming events and program- ming will be announced soon! 2. Music Ministry Kick-Off All interested members in ANY music ministry here at FUMC, whether it be the praise team, the bell choir, the choir, so- los or duets, or the orchestra, please join us for a fun, informational meeting in the coming weeks! Wednesday, August 18 @ 6:30pm You do not have to be a current volun- teer to attend, so please come if youre interested in learning how to serve! Please let Eloise or the Church Office if you have any questions and well be hap- py to help! 1. Attendance We are so thankful to have so many of you joining us each week! As we begin getting back into the normal swing of things, there is one small step that each person attending this morning could help us with today and each Sunday going forward. If each household could fill out an attendance sheet in the red notebooks that you will find in the back of your pews, listing each member of your family and friends that have at- tended our service today, this will dramatically help us keep correct attend- ance numbers of our multitude of services. Thank you! 4. Directories This has been a long time coming, but we finally have new copies of the directory available. These are available for pick up in the main lobby near the receptionist desk. Thank you so much to all of the volunteers who have dedicated countless hours over the past couple years to get this ready! All of that to say, we will never have a completely perfect directory. The nature of collecting volunteer information for a publication makes it so that once you do finally go to print, that is when you will inevitably get a collec- tion of new updates and your directory will immediately be out of date. There is a page at the front of the directory where we explain our thought process, but the key part is that you may let the Church Office know about any mistakes you find by either calling, emailing, or stopping by during of- fice hours. We can only have the best directory possible with your help and grace! While we do encourage you to make handwritten corrections in the margins as we always have, because we have now built this computer based data- base, we can always print you a new directory whenever you would like! Once you find that you would like a new one, simply let us know and we can replace your old pages with an updated copy. 10. Youth Sunday School Bible Study Calling all youth! Please join us for the Youth Bible Study Sunday School class! Every Sunday @ 9:30am, downstairs in the Room #109. Please bring yourself and some friends and join us for a time of some mean- ingful discussion about the Bible and life issues relevant to you! 6. Mandatory 10-Digit Local Dialing Change With coming changes to the United States emergency phone number sys- tem, you will now need to begin dialing the complete 10-digit phone num- ber, including the area code, starting immediately. After April 2022, any local calls dialed without all 10 digits will not be completed and rejected. Beginning this habit of dialing all 10 digits now will help you make that transition before you experience a call being dropped. Because this affects all local calls, this will also affect when you call the church, so please remember to dial our full number: (540)779-0640. 5. Financial Statements are Available Now Financial statements for all of our givers, whether you give regularly or gave once, from this past January through the end of July are now available in your mailbox in the hallway. Please pick these up at your convenience and let the Church Office or Finance Office know if you have any questions! If you do not have a mailbox but expect a statement, please contact the Church Office as we have yours set aside. If we do not hear from you within 2 weeks, we will attempt to mail the statement to our most recent address we have on file for you.
