• Most common words that are found in children’s books

• Six Different Lists: Pre-Primer, Primer, First Grade, Second Grade, Third Grade, Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade

• We cover Pre-Primer and Primer in Kindergarten

• Make sure to leave the word list in your child’s homework folder and do not write on it

• You child is assigned to learn about four words a week

How Can I Help?• Make sure you are studying the words

every night with your child• Use flashcards, have them find the

words in the books you read, let them cut up old magazines

• If your child know the words for the week move on to other words or go back and review
