Religious Education
Summer 1- We will be looking at big questions
that we face in life and how to deal with them maturely. The children will look at how different religions teach people how to overcome and tackle
these big issues.
PE Lessons- Summer 1— Football
Summer 2— Athletics and Rounders.
PSHE- Summer 1—Growing up and moving
on—looking at worries regarding High School and responsibilities
Summer 2— My changing body. The school nurse will visit the year group,
talking to boys and girls separately about changes they will face during puberty. More information will be provided about this topic soon.

Summer 1 - The circulatory system and keeping
healthy In this topic, we will look at the pri-
mary functions of the heart and lungs and how we can provide our body with nutrients. They will also
look at how drugs, alcohol and smok-ing affect these organs.
Summer 2- Electricity
To review previous knowledge of electricity.
They will know and be able to use circuit diagram symbols to draw a
simple circuit diagram. They will be-come confident in using circuit. The
children will also have the oppor-tunity to incorporate this learning
into a topic related game.
Our Topics
Summer 1 -
The children will be learning about rivers within Great Britain, their localities and physical features. Following the journey from the
source to the mouth.
Summer 2 -
The children will be designing and evaluating their chocolate bars and looking at fair trade in more detail.
Art and D and T
Summer 1-
The children will be designing, making and evaluating 3D models of a river.
Summer 2–
Designing, evaluating and producing chocolate bars.
English
Summer 1 Revision of genres in preparation for
SATs including—SPaG. Once revision is complete, we will be
working on the text Kensuke’s Kingdom within which the children will develop a
mixture of activities such as, setting descriptions, diary entries, letter
writing and drama. Summer 2
Children will be developing their writing skills for narrative continuing with the
text Kenuske’s kingdom. And then moving onto Twelfth Night.
Maths - Summer 1 Revision of units in preparation for
SATs including arithmetic strategies.
Summer 2
The children will be working on and developing their problem solving skills
through a number of activities. We will also be working on material in
preparation for Secondary school.

ICT Summer -
Powerpoint presentation to represent their chocolate bars by using Google
sketch up to create 3D models
Summer 2- using a programme called ‘Scratch’ to
create a game.
