Leader: Eternal ruler of the ceaseless round, of circling planets singing ontheir way;

People: Guide all the nations from the night profound, into the glory ofthe perfect day;

Leader: Rule in our hearts and keep us ever true,

People: Directed, strengthened, and upheld by you.

*Call to Confession / Unison Confession / Silent Prayer & Meditation

Our unison prayer will be followed by a time of silence for reflection/prayer/contemplation.

Almighty God our Potter;

Jeremiah gives us a powerful image Lord - but I’m not sure I like it! I’m not

sure I want to be reworked like a vessel made of clay. Sure, reshape parts of

my life, I admit that I’m out of round here and there. But I am basically a

good person. Do I have to be so completely reworked, especially after serving

you all these many years? Look at that vessel over there Lord. That one is

the one that needs to be re-done. I just need a little glaze; a little polishing.

See, I have pretty much hidden my own cracks - even from me. Forgive me

Lord for always thinking your Word is for another. Forgive me Lord for

stubbornly clinging to my will, rather than opening my heart to your

continuing work. Forgive me and re-work me, that I may be your faithful

child. [Silent Prayers/Meditations]

In Christ’s name we pray, Amen. (Response - next page)
