UK Undergraduate Degrees

• In England, Wales and Northern Ireland, the majority of Honours degrees are 3 years in duration with specialisation from the outset

• In Scotland, the majority of degrees are 4 years (Honours)

• Scottish degrees have lots of flexibility and choice of subjects to study in lower years, with specialisation by third year

• Often this gives students the opportunity to sample several subjects before choosing in which to specialise

• Ancient universities confer Master of Arts (MA) for undergraduate degrees in humanities and social sciences

What happens next? If accepting Edinburgh’s offer…

For September 2020, we are planning a hybrid approach - a blend of on campus teaching and digital elements that allows students to continue with your studies. In practical terms this means if you cannot make it to Edinburgh for part of the academic year, we will use technology to keep you close to us (socially and intellectually) despite the physical distance until you are able to join us.
