We are pleased to illustrate a large selection of memorials, many of which are held in

stock and can be viewed in our main showroom.

The price of lawn-type memorials and headstones with kerbs includes the following:-

The first 80 letters of the inscription, either sandblasted and gilded or

sandblasted and painted in a colour of your choice

Ornamentation from our range of computer generated designs

Flower container(s), if required

An approved fixing system and pins to meet with Health and Safety rules and

regulations wherever possible.

A grano platform for additional foundation

V.A.T. at the current rate

Please note that all lettering on tablets and vases is charged extra, per letter.

Cemeteries and Churchyards. Fees – Once a memorial has been placed on order, there is usually a fee payable to

the local authority or Church. We will advise you of this cost and arrange for all

necessary application forms to be completed.

Memorials allowed – Cemeteries and Churchyards have different rules and

regulations governing the size, style and material allowed. We will advise you of

any restrictions.

Our Guarantee. A written guarantee for six years is given with all new memorials supplied by

ourselves. However, this guarantee does not cover vandalism or accidental damage

to the memorial and we strongly recommend that memorial insurance is taken out,

details of which we can provide you with.

Materials. Normally we would recommend the use of granite wherever possible as it is a hard

wearing material that requires little maintenance and is available in many different

colours. More traditional materials, such as marble, crownstone or Portland are

available to order.

Although this product is described by the manufacturer as “Frost Proof”, they have been known to crack in extreme

conditions. We therefore recommend that you remove the flowers for safe-keeping when the temperatures are

expected to go below freezing.

Open Book Memorials, Cemetery Selection.

Open Book memorials are available to order in many different styles and materials.

Alternatively, you may prefer to have a lawn-type memorial

with an open book design incorporated on it.

Memorials with Kerbs, Cemetery Selection.

As we do not normally hold memorials with kerbs in stock, we can only give an

indication of price. We would be pleased to contact our suppliers to obtain the best

prices for you, once we know your exact requirements. The memorials are available

in many different shapes, sizes and materials. Delivery will be advised when the

order is placed.

Once you have chosen the memorial, you will need to decide if you would like

chippings in the centre or a cover slab.

The centre of the kerbs is also an ideal place to have an extra vase placed for flowers.

A matching tablet can also be placed in the centre at any time if further inscriptions

need to be added.

Churchyards

Churchyard rules and regulations restrict the types of memorial and materials

allowed. In general, the following apply:-

* Dark grey granite, Crownstone and other limestones or sandstones are

permitted as long as they are in keeping with the Church.

* Black granite or white marble are not permitted.

* No stone may have a reflective, polished finish.

* Ornamentation is subject to the Minister’s permission and is usually only

allowed to be plain or gold

The rules and regulations also state that a memorial should not be placed on a

grave until at least six months after the burial, although some Ministers do not

enforce this rule.

An application needs to be made to the Minister for any memorial work carried out

in their Churchyard. We will do this on your behalf and carry out the memorial

work once the necessary permission has been received. Fees are usually payable to

the Church and we can advise you of this cost.

Ornamentation Photoceramics

A photoceramic can be produced from a photograph and fixed within a frame.

The photograph brought in to be used can be edited to show just the head and shoulders

and the background can either be left in or replaced with a pale colour. Photoceramics

can be of either one or two people and can be in colour, black and white or sepia.

Photoceramics cost from £130.

Individual Designs

You may have a particular picture or photograph which you would like

copied onto a memorial. Individual designs cost from £90.

Memorial & Grave Maintenance Scheme

The Memorial and Grave Maintenance Scheme is a service specialising in the

care and maintenance of graves for people who are unable to look after the resting

place of friends and loved ones.

If you live too far away, or find it too difficult to physically manage the work,

we offer a high quality service that you can rely on.

Memorial Work. At each visit, we will carry out light cleaning work on the memorial. However, if we find that

the memorial is exceptionally dirty or that the inscription needs renewing, we may recommend

additional work to restore its appearance. We will supply you with a free, no-obligation

quotation before any additional work is undertaken.

Flowers. You can order flowers to be placed on the grave, either at the time of our visit or on a separate

occasion. The flowers supplied will be a selection of those in season and they will be arranged

in a new flower container and placed on the memorial.

A holly wreath can be supplied at Christmas.

Details of the scheme will be sent to you upon completion of your new memorial.

Memorial Insurance.

Of course, you will care for the grave of a loved one. But who will safeguard the memorial

and repair or replace it if it is defaced or damaged over the years? It is a sad reflection on

today’s society that many memorials suffer wanton vandalism. These attacks are not restricted

to grand or elaborate memorials – often the simplest family stones are the target of malicious

attacks or are accidentally damaged.

Whilst it is impossible to prevent this distressing possibility, Stoneguard Insurance can ensure

that any damage can be put right very quickly – even to total replacement of the memorial.

Cover is also included for liability in respect of injury to members of the public up to a limit of

£2,000,000.

Established headstones and memorials can also be insured through Stoneguard, provided that

cover is based on today’s replacement value.
