WELCOME TO OUR NEW HONORARY DEGREE RECIPIENTS!

#CUpride

PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

On behalf of Concordia, I take pride in sharing with you some wonderful news.

In 207, we welcomed 2 new honorary degree recipients. Like you, they join a rare group to earn this distinction.

It’s a great time to be part of our university. We placed among the top North American schools in the Times Higher Education Young University Rankings. Concordia also moved up 30 spots from the previous year in the 208 QS World University Rankings.

Concordia recently launched its most ambitious fundraising campaign to date. The Campaign for Concordia: Next-Gen. Now will support our nine Strategic Directions that cement our place as Canada’s next-generation university. Learn more at concordia.ca/campaign.

If you would like to watch the videos from our convocation ceremonies, visit concordia.ca/graduation-convocation/ceremonies/past.

Enjoy and take pride in your community that includes over 2000 alumni around the world.

Sincerely,

Alan ShepardConcordia President

Kim Thúy’s debut novel Ru won — among many literary prizes — the Governor General’s Literary Award for French-language fiction in 200. Thúy left her home in Vietnam at the age of 0 and settled with her family in Quebec. A graduate in translation and law, she worked as a seamstress, interpreter, lawyer, restaurant owner and food commentator on radio and television before devoting herself to writing.
