HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS
• 220 total credits• 6 semesters of
composite satisfactory or excellent citizenship
• English - 40 credits• Social Science - 30 credits• Math - 20 credits• Physical Ed. - 20 credits• Science - 20 credits• Fine Art or Foreign
Language - 10 credits• Health - 5 credits• Electives - 75 credits

Course Selection Goals

IS YOUR STUDENT READY FOR HONORS?• Do they complete their homework on time? • Do they study even when they do not have
homework?• Are they motivated to complete their school work
without parental prodding or supervision?• Do they advocate for themselves when things get
difficult? Ask for help?• Do they go above and beyond what is required?
WHAT ARE AP CLASSES?• Advanced Placement classes are equivalent to college
level courses
• AP Classes lead up to national AP exams in May
• Many colleges grant credit to students who pass the AP exam
• AP Human Geography & AP Comp Sci Principles - open to freshmen.
HONORS AND AP COMMITMENT
•Discuss honors and AP course selection with your student
•All honors/AP courses are a full year commitment- drops are not permitted
• Blue Honors/AP Commitment Form- required if selecting honors or AP classes

PROCESS FOR PROGRAMMING1. Using yellow Course Selection Sheet, help your
student select classes2. Enter course selections online in Powerschool
(directions on orange sheet ) by Friday, March 29th
3. Return yellow Course Selection Sheet and blue Honors/AP Form (if applicable) with parent signature to your middle school office by March 29th

ATHLETICS

on team. • Applications will be delivered to middle schools before
