TESTIMONIES My name is Teresa Man. I was brought up in a traditional Chinese family and I didn’t have chance to get to know anything about God until I finished my studies in Australia in 1994. I was employed as a teacher in a local Christian primary school in Sham Tseng. It was the first time I had a chance to read the bible and work with Christian colleagues. Whilst at the school I noticed that Christians were different. Teachers were kind, helpful and religious. The thing that amazed me most is the marriages between Christians. I really admired the way Christian couples live. My husband Chris and I had a chance to join a marriage retreat years ago, organised by St Andrew’s Church. It was a precious ex- perience for us. Just before Easter in 2004 my husband and I were baptised as Christians. I have experienced God with us in different situations. In 2003 when SARS disease was active in Hong Kong I became pregnant accidentally and I was so scared and insecure. The only thing I could do was to pray and it was the only way I could release my burden. Almighty God really listens to prayers and the blessings for us are unlimited. As a Chris- tian, I have learnt to be humble, patient and love others. It is a long road full of learning opportunities and I am willing to follow God’s word and spread the love of Jesus to others. Teresa Man (Kidzone) My grandmother led me and my brother to the Lord when I was young. I was saved at the age of 12. My conviction of God’s sovereignty was further confirmed through St Georges Church, Singapore, in 2008 when my husband and I moved there. It is a multi-ethnic church and I fell in love with the child friendly environment. We believe that the Church and the Christian community are very important to our children (Charlotte is now 5 years old and Alasdair is 3 years old). Since then, we have grown closer to God by attending church weekly and studying his word. We moved to Hong Kong in 2011 and were very lucky to find this lovely church. We were introduced to St Andrew’s Church by Diana Barnett, through our mutual friend in Australia. Now my vision is to grow with St Andrew’s and the Christian community; to get involved in this friendly environment where people from any and every background can experience healing and meaning from the Gospel through serving and worshiping God together.
