Studies have shown that a healthier, and happier employee is more productive and eagerly contributes to a more robust growth in business. Occupants will feel good about being part of a socially responsible workplace, and will enjoy the features that they can connect with. Employers are rewarded with reliable employees, and the peace of mind knowing they have invested wisely.
• State-of-the-art building design with connecting indoor & outdoor spaces.
• Bright, modern workspaces and a visible stairwell for promoting a healthy and active workplace environment.
• Universally accessible facility.
• Integrated access control & security management to ensure a safe working environment.
• Inspirational graphics, wayfinding system & smart digital media wall to stimulate visual & workplace creativity.
• WIFI service to the outdoor landscaped urban plaza, providing a fresh air meeting environment.
Our primary design goal for the Stratus Centre was a contemporary landmark building that – through a holistic sustainability strategy – provides a healthy and productive workplace environment while maximizing occupant comfort. We felt another important objective was to create a strong urban presence on the street, in hopes of catalyzing the revitalization of Davis Drive into a vibrant transit corridor. Responding to the adjacent winding Holland River to the west, the building is subtly inflected in plan, its gracefully kinked contours offering a gentle and inviting embrace to those approaching. A long, shallow floor plate coupled with floor-to-ceiling windows allows for abundant natural daylight to penetrate deep into the building core. To perceptibly shorten the length of the building, we articulated the building’s west façade with vertical aluminum fins, which also function to frame views to the exterior while providing solar shading, thus minimizing solar heat gain in the summer months.– SUPERKÜL
The goals of the landscape are to contribute to the overall experience of the architecture, strengthen the urban form and streetscape, and provide a place of quiet respite for visitors.
Taking a cue from the defined lines and geometry of the architecture, rectilinear patterns are laid out on the ground plane with alternating and irregular bands of hardscape paving and
planting beds leading to the elevated terrace and building entry. In place of lawn and traditional planting beds is a contemporary plaza environment with block bench seating, shade trees,
and a mix of ornamental grasses and evergreen plants for seasonal visual interest.– TERRAPLAN LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT
