The Barcelona Graduate School of Economics is an innovative institution that offers world-class, full time graduate programs taught by leading international scholars and practitioners in one of the world’s most dynamic cities.

The Barcelona GSE is ranked by research Papers in Economics (PePEc) among the top 10 European Institutions and the top 20 economics departments worldwide.
We offer a nine month Master programs taught entirely in English by its world-class faculty body that consists of more than 150 affi liated and guest professors, drawn from leading universities and companies around the world.
Our seven programs lead to three master degrees: the Master Degree in Economics and Finance awarded by UPF, the Master Degree in Specialized Economic Analysis and the Master Degree in Data Science, both jointly awarded by UPF and UAB.
The Barcelona GSE recruits talented, analytically –minded students from all over the world who want their experience to be a challenging one where they can demonstrate their passion for learning and live within a community of other students who have ambition and initiative.

The BARCELONA GRADUATE SCHOOL OF ECONOMICS is an Interuniversity Research Institute devoted to excellence in research and graduate education in economics and the social sciences.
It was founded in July 2006 by a partnership of private and public institutions including four academic institutions (Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, CSIC and CREI) whose reputations, faculty, and resources underpin the School.
The Barcelona GSE promotes excellence in scientifi c research in close collaboration with its four founding academic bodies.The school’s faculty includes a number of researchers at the forefront of the European economic research community.
The school offers a wide range of professionally and academically-orientated degrees in economics to graduate students committed to understanding the complex economic and fi nancial processes of an increasingly global society.

The application is done entirely online, from November 15 to June 25. An Admissions Counsellor will guide you throughout the process.
Required Documents
• Diploma of undergraduate/bachelor’s degree completion from an accredited college or university
• Proof of English profi ciency
• Academic transcripts
• Curriculum vitae
• Statement of purpose
• Two letters of reference
• GRE exam is highly recommended for applicants to all programs. For Data Science applicants, the GRE is mandatory.
Campuses
The Barcelona GSE has two main campuses:
Ciutadella campus which is allocated in the heart of Barcelona, and is within walking distance to the beach and the city´s fi nancial, cultural and governmental centers.
Bellaterra Campus, located an easy 30 minutes train ride form the city center. Its infrastructure, created exclusively for university life, offers academic, cultural and social activities along with all the services students need in their day to day life.
Life in Barcelona
The city of Barcelona is a well-known cluster for education in economics and business with more than 200.000 students. Cosmopolitan and vibrant city, with citizens coming from all parts of the world to enjoy its rich culture including architecture, museums, music and, of course, football. Moreover, the cost of living in Barcelona is one of the lowest compared to other major European cities.

Our seven programs lead to three master degrees: the Master Degree in Economics and Finance awarded by UPF, the Master Degree in Specialized Economic Analysis and the Master Degree in Data Science, both jointly awarded by UPF and UAB.

The Barcelona GSE has two main campuses:
Ciutadella campus which is allocated in the heart of Barcelona, and is within walking distance to the beach and the city´s fi nancial, cultural and governmental centers.
Bellaterra Campus, located an easy 30 minutes train ride form the city center. Its infrastructure, created exclusively for university life, offers academic, cultural and social activities along with all the services students need in their day to day life.

The city of Barcelona is a well-known cluster for education in economics and business with more than 200.000 students. Cosmopolitan and vibrant city, with citizens coming from all parts of the world to enjoy its rich culture including architecture, museums, music and, of course, football. Moreover, the cost of living in Barcelona is one of the lowest compared to other major European cities.
