Creating open lines of communication between providers and coders…between coders and AR staff…can facilitate a collaborative approach to an efficient revenue cycle. With the added complexity of ICD-10 and increased documentation requirements, the need for an established, accepted method to transfer information is significant.
1.3: Rapid Fire Review - Evaluation and Management

1.5A: Peripheral Vascular Coding for Abdomen and Lower Extremity Procedures
We review the various concepts and rules that apply to each body area for both invasive diagnostic and interventional PV coding and then apply these rules to actual case notes. With the continuing bundling of services learn which services can be billed separately to capture maximum reimbursement.
1.6: PV Case Coding & Medical NecessityPractice coding Peripheral cases of the abdomen and lower extremities. Plus, Medical Necessity – Does Your Documentation Support the Services Billed? Accurate documentation to establish medical necessity is critical to ensure reimbursement for services performed and billed. Some topics that will be covered are: Understanding medical necessity and how to make sure it’s supported; Modifiers; Why complete and appropriate dìagnosis coding is critical; Evaluation and Management areas of focus.

2.2: EP Studies, Ablations and Device Implants
We review key EP procedure and device implant concepts and codes to gain a clear understanding of these services. Gain insight into billing additional mechanism codes with the bundled ablation codes. We then apply these concepts to case coding exercises.
