Rare Books and Broadsides

A small collection of rare books and broadsides reflects the eastern region of the state, its agriculture, architecture, law, and local history.

The Snow L. and B.W.C. Roberts Collection

An outstanding, non-circulating collection of novels and short stories set in North Carolina from the 1830’s to the present.

The North Carolina Periodicals Index is one of the jewels in our crown.

Since 1992, the NC Collection staff have indexed more than 40 periodicals published in North Carolina. Many are not indexed elsewhere.

The Index is searchable by keyword. Articles identified are available in the collection or through Interlibrary Services.

Come and visit… Our regular hours: Monday-Thursday, 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Friday, 8:00 a.m.- 6:00 p.m. Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Sunday, 1:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
