Honors Course Requirements•18 Hours general Honors credit (any level)•3 Hours Upper-level Seminar credit (3/4000 course)•3 Hours Summit Experience credit (final year)•First-Year Experience course + attached LCG

First-Year Experience Program•Mandatory for all entering Honors freshmen• Distinct Learning Community Group (LCG) attached to

each FYE course• LCGs will be held online and guided by two Honors student

peer Mentors•Must take one (and only one) FYE + LCG

First-Year Experience Program• All FYE courses offer a core curriculum credit.• Some FYEs have pre-reqs or co-reqs. See the online booklet.• Enroll in your FYE & its attached LCG section simultaneously.• IS 1100 is probably unnecessary for most Honors students.• FYEs are filled without permits from advisors, so you DO NOT need permission to enroll in just your FYE/LCG.

First-Year Experience Program• For Engineers: ENGR 2392-H02, ARCH 1311-H01, all HONS

1304 sections, HIST 2300-H01, HIST 2301 sections• For Science/PMED majors: ENGL 2391-H01, MATH 2300-H01,

PSY 1300-H01, and all HONS 1304 sections• For RCOBA students: ECO 2305-H01 (required for degree),

HONS 1301 and 1304 sections, and HONS 2406 sections• For Pre-Law students: THA 2301-H01, HONS 2406-H01• For Humanities majors: CLAS 2304-H01, ENGL 2391-H01,

Taking Non-FYE Honors Courses• Freshmen must take an FYE + LCG, but also have the option

of taking additional Honors courses.• Find our course booklet online athonors.ttu.edu/academicsandenrichment/advising/courselistings/honorscourseinformation.php

Taking Non-FYE Honors Courses• You must request a permit from us to take any non-FYE

Honors course (i.e. CHEM 1307, MATH 1451)! See the info we sent to you at your TTU email address on May 20th with instructions. If you’re lost, email us at honors.ttu.edu.• Fill out the Permit Request Form, complete with your tentative

planned fall schedule blocked in.• Two days before your RRO Session dates, check your Student

Dashboard to see if your requested course permit(s) has/have been applied. If not, you’ve been added to a waitlist.

RRO FAQ on our RRO webpages for extensive information and extra assistance.• Remember: no permit needed for FYE/LCG, and look for

permit approvals on Student Dashboard.

Registration Resources•Registration opens at 10:00am on Day 2 of RRO.• Students can build their Fall schedule early in preparation for registration during RRO using the Plan Ahead Tool.• Schedule Builder should be used with caution: it doesn’t always pull in Honors sections accurately.• Section Search Tool is also very useful.

Next Steps•We’ll email you at your TTU email a week prior to your RRO Session, with additional info.•Email us after AP credits are posted to your Tech transcript for additional permits.•Check your TTU email DAILY! And please include your TTU R# in all emails to TTU Advisors.
