YDI Mission and Vision: “YDN’s mission is to create life-changing experiences for youth to thrive and succeed. YDN believes that training and professional development for people who work with youth is a critical component of achieving our vision.” • About half of our staff went
through the 4-day summer training!

SAFETY FIRST
• Off Campus Until 7:55 a.m. (Exceptions: Breakfast, Class, and Club Meetings)
• Use of Crosswalks and Sidewalks

ABSENCES FACTS
• Direct link between attendance & success in school
• We lose $30 a day per absent student
• The only excused absences are for child illness, medical
appointments, or death in the immediate family; all others
considered unexcused (includes tardies of more than 30
minutes except for medical reasons)
• 3 or more unexcused absences/tardies is considered truant
• Letters go home after the 3rd
, 4th
, and 5th
unexcused absence
• After the 6th
unexcused absence, a Notification of Habitual
Truancy letter goes home and a SARB meeting will be
scheduled with the parents/guardians and student

What is Lexia Reading Core 5?

Designed specifically to meet the Common Core and the most rigorous state standards, this research-proven, technology-based approach accelerates reading skills development, predicts students’ year-end performance and provides teachers data-driven action plans to help differentiate instruction.” • Many other high-performing schools locally and statewide are using it. • Gives kids access to at-home practice:
