What is Union Savings?Union Savings is Canada’s only not-for-profit, union run, members’ discount program. We use the size and strength of our membership to negotiate savings for union members, retirees and their families. As a not-for-profit our sole purpose is to create programs that provide your members with high quality, money savings services. The Executive and Board of Union Savings are elected union representatives from our affiliates.

Why is Union Savings important?Providing your members with cost-saving services is a great way to add even more value to their union membership. It is also a great way to engage your membership to show that the union is constantly working for them. The more engaged your membership is, the stronger the labour movement will be.

Do union members have to pay?No. Membership in Union Savings is completely free of charge. All your members need to do is create their free account at www.unionsavings.ca or call 1.800.418.2990 to start accessing all the discounts they have available to them.

What if our local has our own programs?Some locals have negotiated other deals with other service providers. We want to be able to provide as much choice to your members as possible so they can save the most money. If you have a better deal, let us know; we are constantly working to improve our programs.

Where do we get materials? Everything is designed for you and sent to your local for free. There is no minimum or maximum quantity for printed materials. If you need something designed specifically for your membership, let us know and we’ll work with you to create something to accommodate your needs.

How to joinJoining is easy! All we require is a letter from your union, on letterhead or an email, that indicates that you want to make our program available to your members.

Next StepsHow to promote to your membership Membership AdvertisementsThere are various way to promote Union Savings programs to the membership. We provide print, website and social media ads. If you would like something specific, let us know and we would be more than happy to create a unique ad. *All materials are available in French if required.

Brochures and PostersWe offer customized brochures and posters. There is no minimum or maximum order number. The brochure can be shared electronically and can also be distributed in print format at meetings, through mail-outs, or in offices. Posters are printed on tabloid (11”X17”) or legal (8.5”X14”) paper and can be posted where members can see them.

Social Media Social media is a great way to engage your members. Create your own posts or we can provide ads and posts for all your social media needs. Follow us on social media to see our latest posts and share them with your membership.

WebsiteAdd our link to your website so your members can easily access the program.

NewsletterThe newsletter can be shared electronically or printed and provides updates on the work that Union Savings is doing, as well as new discounts and services.

Discount and Services GuideThis booklet contains detailed descriptions of the discounts and services available to our members. They should be distributed to any staff or elected individuals that may get questions about Union Savings and can also be shared electronically or printed.
