Why Do We Have to Study History?

How Class Will Work
We will have lectures, activities and simulations. You need to be here, as a grade will be given for participation and if you aren’t here, the lesson can’t be repeated
Each Friday, we will devote time to learning how to write a DBQ. During the course of the year, we’ll write a practice DBQ in early February, and real DBQs in March
How Class Will Work
Keep all the assignments and papers I hand out to you in a loose leaf binder. A hole puncher will be provided for your use.
Each day, we will likely complete an activity using the IPADS.
You must take Cornell notes. I will give you a grade on your note-taking. Cornell notes may be used on tests and quizzes.
How Class Will Work
When the tardy bell finishes ringing, if you are not sitting at your desk, you will be counted tardy.
Raise your hand and ask if you want to speak, need supplies, or need to sharpen a pencil, or a tissue.
No one is to be in the hallways 15 minutes after class begins, and 15 minutes before class ends…so take care of your bathroom needs before coming to class.
How Class Will Work
NO CELL PHONES. NO ELECTRONIC DEVICES. NO EAR PHONES. PERIOD. NO MORE WARNINGS.
No hoodies on your head in the classroom. This goes along with the ban on hats in the hallway.
Ignore visitors coming into the classroom. Expect someone to visit at least once a week.
How Class Will Work
When doing group work, complete your assignment first, then socialize.
You can drink water or pop in class. No eating, however.
If you miss class, it will be your responsibility to find a friend and copy their Cornell notes.
