Last year, I taught your friends in 1C! I’m really looking forward to being your teacher.

I have a dog called Ben.

I like music, reading and travelling. My favourite places I have been to recently are Australia and Iceland.

This is my fourth year at Mosspitsand my first time being in Year 2.

You are now the oldest in the infants! You get lots of jobs to help your teachers and the younger children in the school.

There is lots to look forward to in the school year like Sports Day, time in the MUGA, M Factor and the school Nativity!

How to get ready for year 2!

Keep up with daily reading. Read and talk about books every day!

Practise reading and writing words using your phonics sounds.

Practise counting in 2s, 5s and 10s. Practise your basic skills adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing.

Practise telling the time at o’clock and half past. Challenge yourself to quarter to and quarter past if you can!

Practise getting changed for P.E. as fast as you can! Practise tying your laces and doing your school tie.

Practise writing as often as you can. You might help write the shopping list or cards for people you know.

Year 2 summer challenges!

Miss McGing, Miss Corrin and Mrs McMillan are challenging you to read 15 books on bug club before September! Make sure to talk about what you’re reading.

25 word challenge – choose a familiar story (it could be a fairy tale or even the plot of a film) and try to retell the whole story in 25 words! Send us your efforts on twitter or on classdojo!

There will be prizes for children who complete both!
