At the beginning of 2020, the repre-sentation of women in leadership positions within business across America was trending - albeit slowly - in the right direction, according to research by McKinsey & Company. The COVID-19 pandemic had a near-immediate effect and disproportionate regressive effects on women in the workforce. For the first time, the percentage of employees leaving the workforce was higher with women than their
male colleagues. The personal and professional demands on working women have never been greater and the risk for women downshifting their careers or opting out altogether is alarming. This isn’t good news for business or our economy. Data proves that businesses with more women in leadership roles achieve higher profitability, and furthermore, national GDP trends upward as labor participation for women increases.
This two half-day virtual customizable learning experience is designed for women in the workplace and their male allies to celebrate the strengths of women while equipping leaders with actionable strategies to assist in driving professional growth and reversing these alarming trends.
Whether you’re a woman in leadership who wants to level up their influence and impact or an ally who seeks to better understand the hurdles women face to foster empathy and provide support, we’re confident you’ll walk away from this learning experience with a call to action.
Thank you for your attendance today and your continued support of your Chamber.
