A NOTE FROM FATHER ANDREW
Dear Parish Family,
I hope you are enjoying your summer. It was a HOT one last week. I am sure everyone stayed cool and
made it through okay. First, let me begin by saying thank you one and all for another successful Pine
Barrens Festival. To the directors, chairpersons, and volunteers words cannot express enough my
thanks. As you know we depend on the festival for our continued financial stability and every year you
come forward to make it a wonderful event for the parish and the surrounding community.
While summer may be a time for relaxation and vacation; the staff has been working hard to prepare for
September with meetings over the summer. We look forward to serving you with another exciting year.
One area of importance that the staff continues to discuss is getting our members engaged in ministry
here in the parish. We should be very proud as a faith community for our children’s and welcome min-
istries: KIDZONE, CHILDREN’S LITURGY OF THE WORD, THE WELCOME CENTER, THE
CAFÉ. These ministries are key in the vision of our parish. They are so important to our mission to
Follow Christ, Love All and Grow Disciples. Seriously think about becoming part of one of these minis-
tries as we get closer to September. We want the best programs possible for our children and for people
who are searching for a church to make their home,. Your participation in one of these ministries can
make that happen. Please consider NEXT STEP! Don’t just be a member of Holy Eucharist Parish be a
MINISTER of Holy Eucharist Parish and serve even if it’s only for a short period of time.
“Take care to guard against all greed, for though one may be rich, one’s life does not consist of posses-
sions.” This isn’t a message that gets much advertising. On the contrary, just about every advertised mes-
sage we hear comes from someone who wants to make money by selling us possessions. In today’s cul-
ture, it’s hard to remember that life isn’t about possessions. But in this Gospel, Jesus reminds us that
there is more to life. Unlike the fool who spends all of his time, energy, and money building larger barns,
we should focus our resources on becoming “rich in what matters to God.” This means cultivating virtue
instead of vice. It means sharing our money with those in need instead of hoarding it out of selfish greed.
The call is a challenging one, and countercultural too. But Jesus never said that the Christian way was
the way of the world. Instead of falling for the marketers’ messages, may we have the wisdom to store up
our treasure in heaven.
Have a wonderful week. See you on the weekend.

Faith in Our Future, the pastoral planning process that has been underway across the Diocese of Trenton since Fall 2015, calls
for each of the 107 parishes involved to pursue a new course that will lead to stronger faith communities and more effective
ministry.
This month, our parishes are getting a clearer idea of what that new course might look like following the issuance of prelimi-
nary recommendations by the Diocesan Planning Commission.
With its focus on consultation that includes parishioners, lay leaders, clergy and diocesan leaders, Faith in Our Future is an 8-
step process that will culminate with the July 2017 implementation of decisions made by Bishop David M. O’Connell, C.M.
The process has now just entered Steps 4 and 5. The leadership team of the Faith in Our Future initiative has consistently
stressed the preliminary nature of the current recommendations, pointing to the opportunity that the Cohorts and individual
Parish Core Teams now have to study them and respond with their “best thinking.”
The Planning Commission will meet again in October to review the Cohort responses and bring together a set of final recom-
mendations for Bishop O’Connell to consider. This will lead to the last two steps — consultation and decision-making by the
Bishop (expected to take place by the end of 2016 or the beginning of 2017) and preparation for implementation (to begin ear-
ly in 2017). Implementation of the Bishop’s decisions is expected to begin July 1, 2017.
To view the preliminary recommendations made for our Cohort ( Holy Eucharist, St. Mary of the Lakes, St. Isaac Jogues, St.
Joan of Arc and St. John Neumann), go to our website at http://holyeucharist.org/#/faith-in-our-future

ST. V INCENT DE PAUL Our St. Vincent de Paul Society is so very grateful to our parishioners for their generous donations of food, money, school
supplies and anything else we have asked for help with serving those in need in our surrounding community. Your contin-
ued support in "Helping Us Help Others" is greatly appreciated. Together we can make a difference one family at a time.
We know it seems like the children just got out of school, but the time has come to begin collecting school supplies for our
annual back-to-school campaign for 2016. We want to make sure that we will have enough school supplies to distribute to
approximately100 children in need on Friday night August 26, 2016 from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.
Education is a key factor in helping to break the chain of poverty in families. It is our hope to help the children of our fami-
lies start their school year off in a positive manner to foster their success in school. The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Holy
Eucharist is requesting donations of school supplies to be distributed to those children of families in need this
September. Donations may be placed in the plastic containers located by the Poor Boxes in the church. A
table will be set up in the Cafe where you will find slips of paper with a list of the items needed. The children will
be given gift certificates to purchase shoes & haircuts. These certificates are given in memory of Charlie Green
who provided the funds to take care of those in need.
The following back-to-school items are needed: Back packs, canvas lunch bags and lunch boxes, loose leaf paper, 1" & 2"
binders, (flexible or hard plastic), dividers with tabs, pocket dividers, pocket folders, 1, 3 & 5 subject notebooks, composition
books, 3x5 index cards, pencils, red, blue & black pens, (regular & erasable), markers ( regular & dry erase), colored pencils,
crayons, highlighters, erasers, scissors, rulers, protractors, glue sticks, scotch tape, pencil bags and boxes, reinforcement
rings for notebook paper, graph paper handi-wipes and book covers.
If you are in need of assistance, please contact our St. Vincent de Paul hotline at 609 268 0005. Please leave a message and
one of our trained volunteers will get back to you. All information is confidential.

K EY M INISTRY O PPORTUNITIES Join our ministry team!
We currently have openings for several key ministry positions.
These positions require an active and growing relationship with God and a genuine care for the parents and children of our
faith community. If you feel the calling to help guide our children in the Catholic faith please call Father Andrew at 609 268
8383.
Kidzone:
We are seeking a volunteer Kidzone Coordinator to be part of our children’s ministry team. The Coordinator’s main objec-
tive is to strengthen the leadership of and participation in Holy Eucharist pre-school ministry. The coordinator is responsible
for leading, managing, and overseeing the weekend preschool program and it’s volunteers. A faith based curriculum appro-
priate for pre-school children will be provided to follow to include worship through song and activities in a small group set-
ting.
Kidzone is worship and play for kids ages 6 months-Kindergarten, meets for the duration of the Mass each weekend at
5:00pm Saturday, 8:30am and 10:30am Sunday during the school year. Kidzone is offered at all masses on LIFT! Faith for-
mation weekends (including 6:00pm Sunday). With a strong team, the coordinator would not need to be present at each ses-
sion.
RCIA for Children
There is an opening for an RCIA for Children Coordinator to be part of our volunteer ministry team. As coordinator, you
will journey with children in their preparation and to receive the sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.
Training is available through the Diocese or through online programs.
The RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation) for children is a two year process that invites any child age 7 to 14 interested in
searching the Catholic Faith to discover what the Catholic Church teaches and believes. It is open to un-baptized children,
children baptized in another faith tradition, and children who may be baptized but who have not practiced their Catholic
faith regularly. This process is accomplished in a comfortable, friendly and informal environment designed for children. The
children attend 8:30 am mass and are dismissed after the gospel. Their small group instructional gathering then takes place
for approximately 1 hour each week between September and May.
Group Leaders and Aides – LIFT! Faith Formation program
Join our team of dynamic group leaders and aides who lead children in a small group during our monthly faith formation
sessions. Curriculum materials and training are provided. Leaders commit their service for one session during each of the
nine months of LIFT – September to May. Enrollment fee is waived for Group Leaders. For more information contact
Donna Remaley at 609 268 7742 or [email protected]
The Trenton Diocese has mandated that all parishes comply with the “Protecting God’s Children” Program. Diocesan policy requires
background checks for all volunteers who have contact with children and young people. Background checks will be obtained through fin-
gerprint analysis conducted by the New Jersey State Police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A Volunteer Application and Code of
Conduct must also be completed. All volunteers are required to attend a Virtus “Protecting God’s Children” session.
CALLING A LL MUSICIANS We are looking to “amp up” our music ministry! We invite new members for our choirs (Children, Teen, & Adult), can-
tors, & especially instrumentalists! If you are a teen planning your fall activities & have musical interests, consider
joining our teen choir. We’ll rehearse beginning in September every other Wednesday from 6 pm – 6:50 pm &
will sing about twice a month at Mass and special occasions. Open to young people ages 12-20.
If you or someone you know has a talent for music and a desire to serve God, please contact our music director at
We am happy to share that with the recent additions of baby bottle returns, the donation amount is now
$4,041.00. Our mothers and babies thank you also as we are enabled to continue to provide the services our
mothers so desperately need while living in a loving home.
