TOP ISSUES
Between October 15 and November 2, 2014, a telephone survey of 500 residents in Durham Region was conducted by Leger Research on behalf of the study team. The results presented yield a margin error of +/- 4.4%, 19 times out of 20.

8 in 10 Durham residentsfeel that traffic congestion is a serious problem.
52% are nevertheless “satisfied”with the “ease of travelling by road”between Durham and rest of GTA.
65% of respondents drive every day. 75% agreethat “we need to reduce car usage”.
7 in 10 are satisfied withthe provision of sidewalksand crosswalks.
But only half are satisfied with amount andquality of bicycle paths, lanes, and trails.
36% of respondents use a bicycle to travelaround Durham Region at least occasionally.
