On 15-08-2011, the Independence Day celebrated at the college campus, NSS students organized

“shramadana” to clean up the campus.

Inaguaration of different forums of the college on 30-09-2011 the inaugural of cultural forum, sports and

NSS units inaugural by Sri C.T Ravi MLA of Chikmagalur

NSS Activities:-

On 30-09- 2011 NSS units of the college inaugurated for the year 2011-12,

On 19-08-2011 Legal Awareness Program Conducted Sre Basavaraj A Patel Distric Judge, Chikmagalur

Inaugurated the program.

On 28-08-2011 Sadbhavan week Organized at the College Level.

On 25-08-2011 Vanamahostav conducted at college campus along with Local Lions Club of Chikmagalur

Planted more than 100 Samples at the campus.

On 24-09-2011 Conducted N.S.S. Day.

On 10-10-201Organized BLOOD CAMP along with Lions Club 52 volunteers donated blood to the district

blood bank of Malle Gowda General Hospital of Chikmagalur.

On 09-1-2012 an awareness programme on use of Plastic conducted M.H Jagadeesh delivered, a special

lecture.



On 02-03-2012 to 08-3-2012 NSS Special camp conducted at Beekanahalli village Sri B H

Narendra pai inaugurated the camp. A special lecture on life skills, Health and Hygiene,

Women empowerment Legal awareness, Youth and Education and Cultural Programs

conducted by the Students.

On 21-03-2012 blood donation camp conducted for the second time twenty volunteers donated

the blood

From 06-09-2011 to 12-09-2011 university level inter collegiate NSS special camp at

Shimoga 10 NSS volunteers participated.

From 19-09-2011 ro 25-09-2011 district level special camp conducted at M. C Halli, 8

volunteers participated.

From 12-02-2012 to 18-02-2012 National Integration week celebrated at Shringeri. 2 NSS

volunteers participated.

From 14-03-2012 to 16-03-2012 protection of Western Ghats conducted at Sri Ram

chandrapura matt at Hosanagara 7 NSS volunteers participated.

From 19-03-2012 to 25-03-2012 National integration camp conducted at padukere of kota

taluk udupi district 8 volunteers participated.

CULTURAL ACTIVITIES: -

On 24-09-2011 cultural forum of the college inaugurated.

From 26th 27th aug 2011 state level cultural competition held at mysore by vishwa manava

vediek a nearly 25 students participated.

Sahyadri utsav- inter college cultural competition “sahayog utsav” conducted by

kuvempu university nearly 40 students participated in different competitions.

SPORTS ACTIVITIES: -

24-09-2011 inaugural ceremony of sports.

From 27,28,29,30-08-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate chess competition held at

L.B.& SBS College Sagar. Our student participated and owned second place.

From 08,09-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate Kusti competition held at

Government first grade college shikaripura Lakshman M II BA participated in 74 Kg and

bagged second place.

On 03-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter Collegiate Judo competition held at sahyadri Arts

and commerce colleges Shimoga. Rangaswamy D 3rd BA owned 3rd place

From 16,17-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate body builder competition held at Sri.

M.V College Bhadravathi. Harish babu at 60 kg 2nd place, Yogesh H.S at 65 kg 1st place,

Theja murthy at 75 kg 3rd place, jayaram A U 80 kg 3rd place.

From 28,29,30-09-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate Kabbadi competition held at

GFGC Ajjampura college owned 3rd place.

From 20th to 22nd Jan 2012, our college sponsored “ Inter Collegiate Women’s Sports Meet” at

mudigere, our college teams were participated and Kabaddi team of college won the prize.

From 17th to 19th aug 2011 inter college ball badminton sports conducted at DVS college

shimoga our college team participated in it.

From 10th, 11th feb 2012 intercollege volleyball competition held at SJM college tarikere oru

college team participated in it.

From 22nd 23rd feb 2012 kho-kho competition held at SJM college tarikere our students



Plans of institution for next year:

On 01,2-10-2011 Kuvempu university Inter collegiate basket ball competition held at

D.V.S College Shimoga and owned 2nd place.

From 20,21,22-10-2011 our college hosted 25th Kuvempu university Inter collegiate

Athletic meet.

On 27-12-2011 to 01-01-2012 our students participated in inter university basket ball

competition at Sathya Bhama University of chanai.

N.C.C. ACTIVITES

Annual training camp held at paduvalahippe under Karnataka BN- NCC, 37 cadets

participated from july 4th to 14th july 2011.

On August 15 and 1st November of 2011 our NCC cadets participated in district parade on

the occasion of Independence Day and Kannada Rajosthsava

4-02-2012 Trucking class held at Madikere NCC Officer and cadets participated.

18-02-2012 to 19-02-2012 ‘B’ Certificate examination held at Hassan 33 cadets participated.

INTER-DISCIPLINARY PROGRAMMES STARTED.

The study of Indian constitution to Bcom students and the study of environmental studies for

BA/Bcom/BBM students started as in inter disciplinary programme.

EXAMINATION REFORMS IMPLEMENTED: -

The college is affiliated to Kuvempu university which introduced semester scheme from

the year 2003-04, students comes under this scheme must take two internal tests in each subject,

carried out by the Internal Assessment Committee of the College. For the students of commerce

computer skill development and practical records were maintained.

As per university guidelines PG Departments of the college are conducting compulsory

Seminars and Assignments, Project works and Dissertation.

NSS-Annual special camp

Orientation programmes- a 3 days orientation programme conducted to the newly admitted

students to the different courses of the college to update their knowledge with regard to higher

educations rules and regulations of the college and university.

Prof. Jagadeeshappa H. S., has conducted 3 days orientation programme from 15-07-2012 to 18-

07-2012 at College.

Independence Day: -

On 15-08-2012, the independence day celebrated at the college campus, NSS students organized

“Shramadana” to clean up the campus.

46 Students of our College attended “Vishawa manava Cultural Programme” held at Mysore. from

30-08-2012 to 02-09-2012.

On17/10/2012 Inauguration of different forums of the college cultural forum, sports and NSS units

inaugural by Sri C.T Ravi, Minister for Higher Education. Government of Karnataka.

26 Students participated in Shayadhri Utsava at Kuvempu University from 19-10-2012 to 21-10-

2012

From 08-10-2012 to 9-10-2012 Islam Pragathipara Vedhike conducted Cultural Competition at

Mountain View College Chikmagalur and our students participate own the Ist Place in the Mime

Competition.

On 22-01-2013 our student participated Kala Prathibotsava and Staged Drama and Own the 3rd Place.

On 23-01-2013 Rangothri of Bangalore conducted Drama competition and our students owned the

Ist place.

On 09-02-2013, Sir, M .V College Bhadravathi conducted Guzzle competition and our 3 students

participated.




From 09-04-2013 to 13-04-2013 Cultural competition held at our college nearly 450 students

participated and 90 students were placed.

On 17-04-2013 Valedictory Function conducted Dr. R Nagarajaiah, the Educationist of Bangalore

addressed our student.

NSS Activities:-

The NSS volunteers belonging to Two NSS Units of the college are very eager to uphold the importance of

service in the society. Thus, they involved happily in all the extension programmes of the college towards

the positive growth of the society.

Annual Special camp under the campaign title “Healthy Youth for Healthy India” was conducted

from27.02.2013 to 05.03.2013 in the village Allampura 5 Kms away from Chikkamagalur. In the camp,

many community programmes were conducted by the students.

Special lectures were organised on various topics for the benefit of both Students as well as the
