**Which 80’s movie was the highest gross-
ing film of the decade?
Find the answer somewhere in the bulletin.
God reveals himself to us through the Bible. We come to know Him
and ourselves better when we study the Word. Sr. Brigid O’Mahony
breaks open the meaning of Scripture and how we can apply it to our
lives. THERE WILL NOT BE BIBLE STUDAY IN THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY.
We will resume in March 9th.
Bring a Bible and a friend!

On Saturday January 12th, 30 of our 8th grade students from
St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's and St. CharlesSt. Ann's gathered at
the Ministry Center at St. Patrick's & St. Brigid's for an after-
noon retreat. The focus of the retreat was on Two Steps of
Love in Action: Social Justice and Works of Charity. Nina
Scrimale led the students in the opening prayer about "not wor-
rying". (Something, we all need to hear !) Brianna Condon
talked to the 8th graders about the importance of Social Justice
when it comes to helping those in need. The students even
came up with ways to make changes in policies and procedures
to help different groups of people. Joanne Bataglia, Liz
Demperio and Anne Satalin, along with Nina and Brianna,
helped the groups make sandwiches to take down to the Men's
Night Shelter and tie blankets for the children who stay at the
McMahon/Ryan Agency for Abused Children. The students
donated the money to purchase the fleece for ten blankets and
they brought in the bread and tuna fish for the sandwich-
es. The retreat ended with the 4:00 Mass at St. Patrick's & St.
Brigid's with Fr. Kevin. Everyone commented on what a great
job the students all did at the readings and how well they partic-
ipated at Mass. Many thanks to all who had a hand in running
this retreat and especially the amazing 8th graders our parish-
es and families should be very proud of them.

RESPECT LIFE
JUDGEMENT DAY BY Congressman Henry Hyde
When the time comes, as it surely will, when we face that awesome
moment, the Final Judgement, I’ve often thought, as Bishop Fulton
Sheen wrote, that it is a terrile moment of loneliness. You have no
advocates. You are there standing alone before God, and the terror will
grip your soul like nothing you can imagine. But I really think that those
in the pro-life movement will not be alone. I think there will be a chorus
of voices that have never been heard in this world, but are heard
beautifully and clearly in the next world. They will plead for everyone
who has ever been in this movement. They will say to God, “Spare him
because he loved us”. And God will look at you and not say, “Did you
succeed”? Rather, He will say, “Did you try”?
To the Food Pantry…..
Dear Marie,
I just wanted to send this personal thank you to let you know how much
your labors of love mean to our students and families! You are God’s
gift to us! Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your never
ending generosity through your ministry at St. Charles-St. Ann.
Thank you Father Maloney for sponsoring this heartfelt act of love and
generosity to those in need and thank you to the loving, generous
parishioners of St. Charles-St. Ann for putting smiles on the faces of
our struggling students and families.
No words can convey the gift of joy felt by each and every recipient of
your generosity.!!
Very Sincerely,
Janet Pandori, Social Worker
