Well although there were plenty of clouds and the grounds resembled more wetlands than an athletics field, we managed
to hold the 8yr - 12yr events for the Athletics Carnival yesterday at Sydney, Narrabeen Academy Athletics Track.
Students participated in all events with a smile and many personal best and indeed school records were broken. A very
large ‘thank you’ to all parent helpers and staff who contributed to making the day such a success. Congratulations also to
the mum’s and dad’s relay teams that set the course on fire. Ribbons will be presented in Week 9’s assembly in
conjunction with Zone notes. The Zone Athletics Carnival will be held on Monday 12 August. Thank you to Mr Flint for
coordinating the event and helping make the day such a huge success.
Terrey Hills has proudly hosted the NSW Premier's Debating Competition over the last two weeks. Last week the
competition was against Newport Public and this week we hosted Mona Vale Public. We are very proud of the efforts of all
our debaters who conducted themselves with our school values of 'Respect, Responsibility and Learning'. A very big thank
you goes to Mrs Cooper for all the organisation and work she puts in to run these events.
We appear to have a very large collection of jumpers in lost property at the moment. Please ensure that you put your
child’s name on the tag so it can be easily returned, especially if it is a new jumper.
Also please ensure you have installed the new app on your phone and deleted the old app as all information will be now
be sent via the SZapp. See instructions further in newsletter.

2019 Arts Alive Primary Choral Concert
This Monday, 17th June, the Year 6 Opera House Choir members had a very early start to attend an all day rehearsal at
Chatswood High School. The day was rainy and cold which meant that all the choirs had to remain inside the hall for the
entire day! I was so proud of our Terrey Hills students. They sang and participated well at all times – watching their
conductor and their behaviour was exemplary. We are all looking forward to the final rehearsal and concert performance
at the Opera House on Wednesday August 7th (evening). Ticket information is attached to this newsletter.

Thank You
Thank you to the Terrey Hills Public School Canteen and all the students who saved the
empty soy sauce fish containers for me. I used them to make an artwork named “Sushi
The Rainbow Fish” and it won first prize in the Primary Section of a Waste To Art
Competition. This artwork is now going to compete in the Regional Competition, so your
little soy sauce containers are being used to spread the message about plastic pollution
instead of going into landfill or the ocean.
