WMP process
• Policy to collect prescriptions for those:
Have their prescriptions on their person or
Have been seen by Primcare and have a script issued.

What happens?• Client can request or• OIC (Officer in Charge) will
suggest/collect or• ARW: suggest or collect.• Signed letter is completed which Person
In Custody signs.• WMP Purchase the prescription from
their own funds. 2008/09 : Spent £900

Aftercare
• Remanded in Custody: Medication will go into their property and will be signed for.
• Charged and Bailed: WMP retain medication and it is disposed of by Primcare.

Post release from Custody
• If client is comfortable assists in speedy process through custody
• Client is able to be interviewed and processed much quicker.
• Continuity of care : beneficial.
• Information passed onto prisons/Community: via Police or ARW
