Sport in Stonesfield School

• Minimum of 2 hours of PE per week delivered by Teachers, PE Specialists and Coaches

• Intra- School Competition(level 1); last year this included Sports day and a KS2 Kwik Cricket competition

• Inter-Schools Competition (level 2); last year the school competed in 16 out of 18 sporting events

• Culmination of inter-school competition (level3); last year children competed in Tag Rugby and Cross-Country

Additional Sporting Opportunities

• Gifted & Talented programme for Year 6 children

PE Premium• £8,000 pa plus an additional

£5 per pupil (calculated on pupil role in January and made in 2 instalments)

• David Cameron has made a commitment until 2020

• Schools must spend the funding to improve the quality of the PE and sport activities they offer their pupils, but they are free to choose the best way of using the money.

• hire specialist PE teachers/sports coaches to work with teachers

• provide existing staff with teaching resources to help them teach PE and sport

• support and involve the least active children by running or extending school sports clubs, holiday clubs and change4life clubs

• run sport competitions or increase pupils’ participation in the School Games

• run sports activities with other schools.

PE Development Targets

• Establish our ‘vision statement’ which recognises and celebrates the value of PE throughout school

• Organise a School Sports Crew; 2 Y6’s and 2 Y5’s

• Working towards achieving Sainsbury’s School’s Games Kitemark Silver award

• Development of PE on school website
