GENERAL INFORMATION

The Holiday Inn of Newton, Iowa is an 80 room limited service hotel. The hotel is situated on 2.24 acres and is conveniently located within the active downtown district of Newton. Being placed within the heart of the city allows guests to enjoy Newton to it’s full potential, with guests being within a very short distance of many popular Newton attractions and just a short drive away from countless area tourist destinations.

Hotel amenities include a heated indoor pool, whirlpool, 24 hour business center, fitness room, and a 700 square foot meeting facility that can be altered depending on the individual needs of each guest. In addition , each room comes equipped with signature Holiday Inn Express bedding and the luxurious Smart Start guest bathroom experience.

With the construction of the hotel completed only thirteen years ago, Holiday Inn Express remains one of the most up-to-date hotels within Newton. The exterior of the hotel offers a distinct L-shape lay out and a large entrance canopy. Once entering the hotel, guests will appreciate the rich colors brought out by the combination of deep green, gold, and wood detailing. Furthermore, a 1,101 square foot addition was added in 2000,creating a more updated space.

BROKER INFORMATION

Mr. Doran brings extensive experience in the hospitality industry as owner/operator/developer and Broker to his role as Hotel Specialist with West Town Realty, Inc. He has been in key leadership roles with Pacific Hotel Group and Allure Hospitality, displaying pivotal influence on new hotel acquisitions by drawing on fifteen years experience in real estate development and management. His hotel management experience as an owner/operator gives Mr. Doran a unique ability to assist buyers in identifying opportunities in hotel acquisition, and offering key insights on the day to day operational challenges faced by new operators. D.J. is a very skillful negotiator, and has the ability and the drive to be a real “deal hero” simultaneously in the eyes of the Seller and the Buyer. He has great strength in bringing successful closure to even the most complex transactions.

Mr. Doran earned a B.S. in Computer Science from Southern Methodist University, a B.A. in Business Management from SUNY at Purchase, and had a twenty three year military career as a United States Air Force Reserve pilot. He is currently working toward his “Certified Hotel Brokers” designation.
