1. Cover the entire box in beige masking tape. (Alternate: Tape the box closed and paint it beige. Move on to Step 2 once the paint is completely dry.)

2. Cut an 18” section of the raffia table skirt and hot glue it to the top of the box on the edge.

3. Apply some spray adhesive to the side of the box beneath the curtain of raffia. Flatten the raffia to the sticky surface and wrap the excess around the bottom of the box. Trim the excess raffia and tape the ends to the bottom of the box.

4. Repeat Step 3 on the opposite side of the box. Afterward, cut out a third 18” panel of raffia. Hot glue the panel to the center of the top of the box. Go through the same process of covering the top half and the third side of the box, trimming the excess and taping the ends to the bottom.

5. Cut out a fourth 18” panel of raffia. Apply a line of hot glue on top of the stitched trim of the panel attached to the center of the top side. Stick the top of the fourth raffia panel to the glue, making sure it’s going the same direction of the third panel. Cover the remaining exposed section of box with spray adhesive.

6. Flip the raffia curtain over its glued edge and flatten the raffia to the sticky surface and wrap the excess around the bottom of the box, finishing off that side like the other three sides. Doing this will hide the table skirt edge on top of the box, making the top look seamless.

7. Wrap two lengths of twine around the sides of the box to complete the hay bale.
