PROJECT LOCATION GENERAL NOTES DRAWING INDEX
1. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CHECK AND VERIFY ALL DIMENSIONS ON THE DRAWINGS, INCLUDING EXISTING STRUCTURES, AND
NOTIFY THE DESIGNER OF ANY DISCREPANCY IN THE DRAWINGS AND/OR EXISTING CONDITIONS BEFORE STARTING THE WORK.
2. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL FURNISH AND INSTALL ALL WORK AS INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS AND SPECIFICATIONS.
3. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL OPERATIONS WITH THE OWNER.
4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COORDINATE ALL OPERATIONS WITH ANY EQUIPMENT AND ITS INSTALLER.
5. ALL ELECTRICAL WORK TO BE INSTALLED BY A CERTIFIED ELECTRICIAN AND APPRENTICES WORKING UNDER THE DIRECT
SUPERVISION OF THE LICENSED ELECTRICAL CONTRACTOR.
6. SYSTEM INSTALLATION SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NEC 2008 AND LOCAL CODES AND STANDARDS.
7. PROVIDE ALL WORKING CLEARANCES AT NEW AND EXISTING EQUIPMENT PER NEC 110.26.
8. FOLLOW INVERTER MANUFACTURES INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS.
9. DC GROUNDED CONDUCTORS SHALL BE MARKED WHITE AT ALL TERMINATIONS. EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTORS (EGC)
SMALLER THAN #4 AWG SHALL BE BARE OR HAVE CONTINUOUS GREEN INSULATION. EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTORS
(EGC) LARGER THAN OR EQUAL TO #4 AWG SHALL BE MARKED AS EGC (GREEN) WHEREVER ACCESSIBLE. DC UNGROUNDED
CONDUCTORS SHALL BE MARKED RED.
10. SYSTEM TO BE BONDED AND GROUNDED IN ACCORDANCE WITH ARTICLE 690 OF NEC.
11. ALL CONDUCTORS SHALL BE COPPER UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
12. WIRE STRAPS TO BE STAINLESS STEEL.
13. ALL METALLIC CONDUIT TO BE GROUNDED BY A GROUND BUSHING AT ALL ENCLOSURES.
14. ALL FASTENERS SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED OF CORROSION RESISTANT MATERIALS APPROPRIATE FOR SITE CONDITIONS.
CONNECTORS SHALL BE TORQUED PER DEVICE LISTI NG OR INSTALLATION DOCUMENTATION REQUIREMENTS.
15. ALL EXISTING OVERHEAD AND UNDERGROUND FACILITIES SHOWN ON THE LAYOUT PLANS ARE DIAGRAMMATIC IN NATURE AND
FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES ONLY. ACTUAL LOCATIONS SHALL BE FIELD VERIFIED AND DOCUMENTED PRIOR TO
EXCAVATION OR EXECUTION OF THE WORK. ADDITIONALLY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FIELD
VERIFICATION OF THE ACCURACY OF ALL AS-BUILT DOCUMENTS USED IN THE PROCESS OF THE WORK.
16. CONTRACTOR SHALL LOCATE AND MARK ALL ELECTRICAL CIRCUITS AND UNDERGROUND UTILITIES IN THE AREA OF
CONSTRUCTION PRIOR TO ANY EXCAVATION REQUIRED FOR INSTALLATION OF DUCTS, DIRECT BURIED CONDUIT, OR EQUIPMENT
PADS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PHYSICALLY VERIFY THE LOCATION AND ELEVATION OF EXISTING UTILITIES INDICATED PRIOR TO
THE START OF CONSTRUCTION, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR LOCATING, PROTECTING AND/OR RELOCATING
ANY EXISTING UTILITIES ENCOUNTERED IN THE WORK AREAS.
17.
18. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE EVERY EFFORT TO CAUSE AS LITLE DISTURBANCE AS POSSIBLE AND PROTECT THE NATURAL
ENVIRONMENT AND RESOURCES OF THE FACILITY DURING THE COURSE OF THE WORK. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE
RETURNED TO THEIR PRE-CONSTRUCTION STATE OR BETTER. AREAS WHICH ARE SEEDED OR SODDED WITH ESTABLISHED
GRASS SHALL BE SEEDED AS SOON AS PRACTICABLE AFTER COMPLETION OF THE WORK IN THAT AREA.
19. ALL EXCESS SOIL, EXCAVATION, WASTE AND DEBRIS SHALL BE REMOVED FROM THE SITE AS SOON AS PRACTICAL DURING THE
COURSE OF THE WORK. SOIL AND EXCAVATION MATERIALS SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM THE FACILITY AND NOT STOCK PILED
UNLESS THEY ARE TO BE REUSED.
20. ALL CONTRACTORS MUST COMPLY WITH FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL REGULATIONS PERTAINING TO THE ENVIRONMENT.
ADDITIONALLY ALL WORK MUST CDMPLY WITH THEIR SAFETY MANUALS, AS WELL AS OSHA REQUIREMENTS AND STANDARDS.
21. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE SAFETY OF ON-SITE PERSONNEL. IF ENGINEERING STAFF OR OTHER SAPETY
PERSONNEL OBSERVE AN UNSAFE CONDITION, WORK WILL BE STOPPED WITHOUT CONTRACT EXTENSION UNTIL THE UNSAFE
CONDITION(S) IS/ARE REMEDIED. ACCIDENT REPORT FORMS (OSHA FORM 301 OR 300) WILL BE SUBMITTED FOR EACH
REPORTABLE OCCUPATIONAL INJURY, ILLNESS, OR LOST TIME ACCIDENT. THE CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR NOTIFYING
OSHA IN THE EVENT OF A SERIOUS EMPLOYEE ILLNESS OR INJURY.
22. ALL CONDUCTORS AND EQUIPMENT SHALL BE CONSIDERED ENERGIZED UNLESS CHECKED, TAGGED, GROUNDED, AND CHECKED
AGAIN.
23. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT DAILY SAFETY MEETINGS COVERING THE FOLLOWING ITEMS:
23.1. PROPER WEARING/USE OF PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) AND TRAINING TO PROPERLY DON/DOFF ALL PPE.
23.2. CONTROL OF ACCESS TO THE JOB SITE AND CLEANLINESS OF THE JOB SITE.
23.3. ELECTRICAL SAFETY ON THE JOB SITE.
23.4. RECOGNITION OF POTENTIAL HAZARDS AT THE JOB SITE AND ESTABLISHING ABATEMENT PROCEDURES TO MINIMIZE THEM.
23.5. AS REQUIRED DURING WORK PERFORMANCE, ABIDE BY ALL EXCAVATION AND TRENCHING REGULATIONS.
24. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONDUCT THE FUELING AND LUBRICATING OF EQUIPMENT AND MOTOR VEHICLES IN A MANNER THAT
PROTECTS AGAINST SPILLS AND EVAPORATION. ALL USED OIL GENERATED ON SITE WILL BE MANAGED IN ACCORDANCE WITH
40CFR 279. THE CONTRACTOR WILL DETERMINE IF ANY USED OIL GENERATED WHILE ON-SITE EXHIBITS A CHARACTERISTIC OF
HAZARDOUS WASTE. IN ADDITION, USED OIL CONTAINING 1000 PARTS PER MILLION OF SOLVENTS WILL BE CONSIDERED A
HAZARDOUS WASTE AND DISPOSED OF AT THE CONTRACTORS EXPENSE. USED OIL MIXED WITH A HAZARDOUS WASTE WILL ALSO
BE CONSIDERED A HAZARDOUS WASTE.
25. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL TAKE PRECAUTIONS TO PREVENT RELEASES/SPILLS OF OIL AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. IN THE
EVENT OF ANY RELEASES OF OIL AND HAZARDOUS MATERIALS, CHEMICALS, OR GASES; IMMEDIATELY (WITHIN 15 MINUTES)
NOTIFY THE LOCAL FIRE DEPARTMENT. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MAKE VERBAL AND WRITTEN NOTIFICATIONS AS REQUIRED BY
THE FEDERAL 40CFR 355, STATE, AND LOCAL REGULATIONS. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL COLLECT AND PROVIDE INFORMATION AS
NEEDED BY THE INVESTIGATING AUTHORITY. SPILL RESPONSE SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH 40CFR 300 AND APPLICABLE
STATE AND LOCAL REGULATIONS. CONTAIN AND CLEAN UP THESE SPILLS WITHOUT COST TO THE OWNER. IF OWNER ASSISTANCE
IS REQUESTED OR REQUIRED, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL REIMBURSE THE OWNER FOR SUCH ASSISTANCE.
ROOF MOUNTED SYSTEM (IF APPLICABLE) :
25. ALL ROOFING REPAIRS MUST MAINTAIN EXISTING CLASS AND TYPE OF ROOF AND ALL WORK SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
ROOFING MANUFACTURER'S INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS.
26. ALL CONDUIT TO BE INSTALLED NO LESS THAN 3-1/2" FROM THE ROOF SURFACE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ADJUSTMENT

Reduction in Sludge Production/Disposal: The only sludge that will be generated during the ABR operations will be from cleaning of pipelines (primarily the extraction well pipelines) and from settling of suspended solids in the phase separator and influent tank. Based on a total suspended solids in the influent of less than 5 mg/L and a conservative estimate that 5% of the iron in the influent will precipitate on the pipelines,

the sludge production will decrease from the 54,800 pounds generated during Year 13 of operations to less than 2500 pounds annually after transition to the ABR system. This represents a reduction of approximately 95%
3. Solar Electricity Generation: Electricity use at the site has averaged approximately 240,000 kilowatt-hours (KWH) per year during operation of the existing treatment system. Based on changes to pump sizes and reductions in blower and compressor operations, the treatment system is expected to use approximately 206,000 KWH annually after transition to the sustainability enhancements. The solar photovoltaic system will generate a maximum of 151 kilowatts (KW) and, on average (depending on weather), should generate 186,000 KWH per year, which is 90% of the expected annual future electricity use at the site. The solar photovoltaic system can be expanded by 10 to 12 KW if future electricity use at the site is greater than expected, thereby maintaining on-site electricity generation at approximately 90% of on-site electricity use.
