Scenario-CompatibleRPM’s Scenario softwarelets you build a centralmulti-user database withall the power measure-ments made by everypower monitor on yournetwork. You can getimmediate access toreal-time data such aswaveform oscilloscopesand power meters toshow you precisely whatis happening on yoursystem now. Events areplotted against powertolerance curves such asCBEMA or the newerITIC curve. Unlike othersoftware, Scenarioprovides you with plots of any chosen parameter from multiplemonitoring sessions on one graph, for a comprehensive pictureof your power system.
Full disclosure technology is crucial to predictivemaintenance. Starting with benchmark measurements of powerconditions, you can then build a power quality index(PQI) and follow it over time to spot anydeterioration. Scenario provides the toolsto compare the PQI against any otherparameter, allowing you to isolateproblems and take decisive action.
Flexible CommunicationsThe InSite Power Recorder comes standardwith an Ethernet RJ45 port and can beconfigured for TCP/IP communications. Youcan connect to InSite monitors over Ethernetnetworks, intranets, or even the Internet. You canalso connect to InSite monitors by dial-up phonelines using Reliable’s new, low-cost Ethernet Modem RouterModel 2140. Up to 253 Power Recorders in a network can beconnected on a single phone line, giving you access to 759
feeders (or voltage andcurrent pairs). UsingRPM’s communicationssoftware and anycombination of RPMPower Recorders(portable or stationary),you can create anetwork of dial-up anddirect connect monitor-ing locations for yourmonitoring system.
Future ExpandabilityThe InSite recorderhas two paths forfuture expansion andenhanced capabilities. The PRLink™ port is ahigh-speed communica-
tions link that offers communications to other devices at speedsof 200 megabits per second. This port can be used, forexample, to connect to a new analog/digital I/O module RPMhas in development to allow monitoring of analog quantitieswith transducers that supply a 4-20 ma output, as well asdigital on/off/I/O states from contact closure, breakers, or other
switches. The PRLink port and the option port will acceptother hardware options in development.
Time SynchronizationGPS time synchronization accuracy betweenmultiple InSite Power Recorders is achieved by
using NTP protocol through the Ethernetport, and ensures all InSite recorderson a network are in sync.(Check for availability.)

The InSite Power Recorder
Utility Substation Switchgear UPS/Generator Output Data Center
Introducing the New InSite Power Recorder System.
The Ultimate in Power Monitoring at a Very Economical Price.
What is InSite? The InSite Power Recorder™ is the most advanced instrumentof its kind. It can be installed at any permanent location whereall aspects of power need to be monitored. You can use it insubstations; switchgear; for monitoring incoming and internalpower at data centers, factories, or commercial buildings.
What Does it Measure? The InSite simultaneously measures power quality, energy, power consumption, harmonics, and flicker. PC softwaredisplays real-time meters andoscilloscopes.
Power Quality: Sags, swells, wave-shape deviations, transients, interruptions, frequency, imbalance.
Power Consumption and Power Flow: Energy, demand, watts, VA, VAR, PF, and kWh.
Harmonics and Flicker: Harmonics measurement to 63rd harmonic, THD, flicker to IEC 868.
Harmonics Tracking: Summaries of all 63 individual harmonics over time, voltage, and current.
Real-time Meters and Oscilloscopes: Voltage, current, power, waveforms, harmonic spectrum, flicker, and impedance.
Why is it Unique? The InSite utilizes Full Disclosure™ technology, and—like otherReliable portable and fixed monitors—provides predictivemaintenance analysis.
Full Disclosure: The InSite comprehensively captures all power information, without requiring pre-set thresholds or triggers. Everything you want to know is measured and analyzed on all channels.
Predictive Analysis: Scenario™ Predictive Maintenance software reveals potential power problems before they happen. It answers such crucial questions as:• Is my power getting better or worse?• Where in my system is my power better or worse?• Why is my power getting worse?
Armed with this information, youare able to take corrective action and avoid costly disruptions.
Easy to InstallThe InSite monitor is housed in asmall (10.25" x 8.7") rugged enclosure, and weighs only 7.5 pounds. Itcomes with easily accessible terminalstrips for voltage and currentconnections, and has built-in currenttransformers for monitoring currentmetering circuits found in substationsand switchgear (external CT optionalso available).
Easy to UseAn InSite monitor is up and running in minutes. There are nocomplicated menus or programming steps, no thresholds ortriggers to set, and there’s no need to manage memory and turnone type of measurement off to enable another. It’s a true multi-tasking and multi-functioning monitor. RPM’s intuitive, Windows-based software will provide you with a summary report, eventgraph or meter value with a couple of clicks of your mouse.
Set up a network of any number of InSite Recorders via LAN/WAN or dial-up connection.
Mount in switchgear or NEMA cabinets.
Finding power disturbance events by severity or time is simple. The InSite Power Recorder automatically presents eventsagainst power tolerance curves that plot events by severity, orby a history summary showing time of occurrence. Events canbe plotted against industry standard curves such as CBEMA,ANSI, or ITIC, or you can create your own curve for yoursituation with RPM’s unique curve editor. Curves can be edited, reshaped, and superimposed on event data any time, evenafter monitoring. The InSite Power Recorder is the only monitorthat can catch any event of any length. It behaves like an

Assure Power Quality, Capture All Disturbance Eventsautomatic fault recorder by automatically adjusting time-basesto give the best presentation of waveshapes, sags, swells, andtransients with pre- and post-trigger information. The InSitePower Recorder makes it easy to identify the origin of sags andswells by simultaneously capturing both voltage and currentinformation and plotting them together. The high samplingrate of the Model 901 InSite Power Recorder enables it tocatch transients down to 130 µs in duration, and is ideal forcapturing power factor correction capacitor and otherswitching events originating on distribution systems.
63 harmonics and THD are measured on every cycle on all channels. You can view the complete spectrum or any individual harmonics' history.

Manage Power Consumption and Energy CostsThe InSite Power Recorder measures watts, VA, VAR, andpower factor (true and displacement) on a cycle by cyclebasis. It provides summaries showing minimum, maximum, andaverage values for each phase as well as totals of all phases.Graphic reports can be pasted into a word processor, and thedata can be easily exported to spreadsheets. For energy use,any demand period from 5 minutes to one hour can be
selected for plotting demand profiles, with or without a slidingwindow. PC software displays real-time meter screens showingfundamental as well as true power quantities (i.e., includingharmonics) and accumulates kWh. A power cube plots active, reactive, and harmonic power to provide a quick visual displayof the extent of harmonic distortion.
The InSite Power Recorder offers the most advanced toolsto view any aspect of power in real-time. For example, youcan obtain oscilloscope traces of any voltage or currentchannel, plot an individual waveform, or all of them together.Add and subtract tools allow you to compare calculatedwaveforms with measured ones to identify ground loops orleakage currents. Monitoring connections can be verified
with a phasor diagram screen. You can even change anyconnection or current transformer polarity from the safetyof your PC using software buttons. Other screens displayharmonic spectra, flicker components, load and sourceimpedance. You can view any real-time screen at any time, even when the InSite Power Recorder is recording disturbanceevents and monitoring consumption.
