Chairman’s Message
Since the last 30 years, Western Gulf Agency (WGA) has evolved from a traditional international freight forwarder to one of Qatar’s leading global provid-ers of innovative and integrated logistics and supply chain solutions.
Thanks to a recognized expertise in Qatar’s hospital-ity sector, WGA Logistics counts among its multi-sec-tor customers hotel brands such as the Four Seasons, W Doha Hotels, Grand Hyatt, InterContinental, Mercure Grand Hotel, Retaj Hotels and Hospitality, Wyndham Grand Regency, etc.
Doha-based retailers such as the Qatar Luxury Group, Al Mana Fashion Group, Blue Salon, AbuIssa Holding, the Dubai Holding Group and so many others also rely on the 30 years-long accumulated experience and networks by WGA to clear and import their goods from everywhere around the globe.

Perishable Goods Logistics
When transporting perishables like fruits, vegetables, meat, flowers, particular care is required for their han-dling. WGA Logistics is working with the most recognized and trustable suppliers to bring to Qatar the perishables as fresh as they were when they left the suppliers. WGA Logistics has established very solid and strategic relations with Fresh Express, one of the leading distributors in the luxury food business within the Gulf Region. Through Fresh Express, WGA Logistics makes sure to bring to Qatar top brands and premium quality products in the food and beverage industry. Thanks to its presence in 7 countries and thanks to a portfolio of more than 2000 items com-ing from almost 60 destinations around the world, Fresh Express and WGA Logistics are proud to supply Qatar-based top hotels, fining dining restaurants, multinational retailers, well-known airlines and royal palaces.
Whatever the source country of a product is and whatever consumer market it must be transported to, WGA Logis-tics offers temperature-controlled logistics and door-to-door services. The services are based upon a specialized network of cargo experts and operational units which was built up during the last 20 years in Qatar, and from

all countries in the principal export and import regions, including in challenging markets such as Central and South America, Egypt, South Africa or China.
Qatar being a big import market of perishables, WGA Logistics had to articulate very early since its creation a logistics offer that would allow the Doha-based five star hospitality professionals to be able to serve to their clientele a large array of fresh food products. Crucial requirements for this service are a guaranteed availability of space and reefer equipment with airlines and carriers during peak seasons from overseas as well as fastest possible transit times at the beginning of a season, in particular for perishables such as mangoes, papayas, and pineapples. Although sea - freight capacity guarantees can no longer be taken for granted, WGA Logistics customers hold good cards in this respect. On the one hand there has been a continuous trend towards more con-tainerization also in perishables logistics; on the other hand a serious shortage of reefer contain-
ers has developed since the beginning of 2010. De-spite this challenging market environment. WGA Logistics always succeeded in servicing its custom-ers thanks to its selection of first-class maritime carriers and forward-looking capacity manage-ment.
WGA Logistics range of services in the transport of refrigerated cargo is another important qual-ity criterion. In perishables logistics the company offers integrated services from a single source beyond traditional transportation of goods from port to port or between two airports. Depend-ing on requirements, door-to-door delivery in-cludes the pre-cooling and refrigerated interme-diate storage of the goods, and, of course, their temperature-controlled collection and delivery by truck. Needless to say, WGA Logistics also offers its customers the advantages of the latest tech-nology in the field of perishables logistics. This includes CA (controlled atmosphere), MTS (multi-temperature) or AFAM systems reefer containers that monitor and control the composition of the air in their interior and their associated electrical generator sets.

PerishablesWGA Retail Logistics
Based on its solid professional relations build with its clients such as the Qatar Luxury Group, Abu Issa Holding, Al Mana Fashion Group, WGA Logistics has been observ-ing over the years that the Qatar retail industry has been marked by strong competition including growing categories such as hardliners, specialty stores, perishable goods and specialty apparel. The pressure is due to increasing consum-er demand for value and convenience, the same resulting in changes of market share across various retail formats. Con-sumer requirements are highly individual, difficult to predict and time-sensitive. Forecasting needs to be very exact in order to make sure the correct inventory is in the stores at just the right time. WGA Logistics would like to insist on the relevancy of visibility and speed in delivery, two critical factors for a supply chain management provider. Seasonal peaks, fluctuation in demand, multimodal supply chains and temperature-controlled cargo, all require accurate, on time information, and end-to-end visibility.

WGA Logistics provides total supply chain visibility and instant reporting on merchandise flows across all modes of transport.
WGA Retail Logistics Expertise
As a leading local and regional supply chain and logistics solutions provider to some of the world’s largest retailers in Qatar and in the Middle East, WGA Logistics understands what it means when shelves are out of stock, when inventory is too high, or when space allocations are tight during peak seasons. As an answer to the pressure and demanding reactivity the retail industry places on retailers, WGA Logistics retail logistics expertise provides visibility and delivers the right product, at the right place, at the right time, and for the right price. WGA Logistics expertise helps its cus-tomers to achieve a comprehensive supply chain optimization. The transportation of retail goods requires logistics industry specialists with a lo-cal, regional and international network, the fa-cility to store, the capability to optimize cargo consolidation and the tools to provide visibility throughout the supply chain.
PerishablesWGA Automotive Logistics
Because WGA Logistics has been handling the Porsche Automotive account for some time now in Qatar, and because WGA Logistics has been moving spare parts for Aston Martin and Toyota in Qatar, WGA Logistics knows too well that the automotive industry has always been at the forefront of inno-vative logistics solutions. In fact, no other industry than automotive has made such consistent efforts to reduce costs and outsource non-core activities such as production, assembly and logistics services.
In after-sales services / spare parts services, WGA Logistics operates complex distribution networks and warehouses using fully automated warehouse equipment and providing value added services to ensure that dealers receive the support necessary to keep customers satisfied.
WGA Logistics believes that the growing complex-ity of the industry presents another exciting chal-
lenge; despite mass production, the products are becoming ever more individual; a form of micro segmentation due to an explosive development of electronics and its steadily growing importance in the industry. In addition, the wide geographical spread of the automotive production networks in comparison with other industries brings new demands. Whereas in other industries only sourc-ing takes place on a global scale, in the auto-motive industry production and maintenance are also spread all over the world. The function of logistics in this industry is to create a geographi-cal balance across the globe.
WGA Logistics is ideally equipped to ensure the global supply of spares. In the highly complex spare parts business, WGA Logistics handles two types of activity: stock spares and breakdown spares. In the stock business, dealers are kept supplied with regular weekly deliveries; parts can be ordered up to three days before delivery. The breakdown business provides spare parts at short notice, averaging 30 kg per delivery. Here the growth rates are enormous: 50% of all deliveries to customers are currently made in this way, and the growth curve points steeply upwards.
WGA Corporate Profile l 28
WGA Aerospace Logistics
WGA Logistics several accomplished jobs for Qatar Airways, Gulf Helicopters and the Qatar Airways Sim-ulation Center has taught us that the demands of the Aerospace industry require a reliable partner who can be trusted to deliver on-time, every time and within budget. Whether you are moving complete engines, landing gear, wings, nacelles, wheels, spare parts or any other component part, aerospace companies need mul-tiple shipment options and charter services worldwide. That is how WGA Logistics successfully moved to Qatar full helicopters, the first full flight simulator for Qatar Airways as well as engines, blades, radio equipment, seats, gear motors and long listed of aviation engines related spare parts.
To carry out an effective aerospace logistics plan, WGA Logistics begins with Key Performance Indicators (KPI) based on its client’s specific requirements. The relevant customs regimes are required to make sure WGA Logis-tics gets the best out of its client’s specificities. WGA Logistics comprehensive freight and warehousing offer is also critical, since it interfaces with the client’s system to ensure end-to-end visibility of shipments throughout the supply chain.

Conversion factorsHow to Calculate Cubic Meters (CBM) When Shipping
WGA Corporate Profile l 38
CALCULATE CUBIC METRES (CBM)
Length (centimeter) x Width (centimeter) x Height (centimeter) / 1,000,000 = Length meter x Width meter x Height meter = Cubic meter (m3).
Example : 35 cm x 35 cm x 45 cm = 0.055 CBM
Calculate the volumetric weight of your shipmentInternational volumetric weights are calculated using the formula below: (Length x Width x Height in centimeters) / 6000 = Volumetric Weight in kilograms
Calculate the volumetric weight to CBMVolumetric Weight ÷ 167 = CBM
