Turning Tears into Smiles at Christmas

We were thrilled to

have been a beneficiary

once again of

cashforkids in 2016.

The difference this

support helps to make

in enabling many

children to open a gift

on Christmas Day they

otherwise would not

have received is

unimaginable.

Personal events are a fantastic

addition to our funding portal

and it also engages people from

all walks of life to achieve on

many occasions life long

ambitions and in some cases

jumping over some very large

hurdles.

JustGiving pages are a safe and

professional way to fundraise and

promote your event.

Wayne Barnett successfully

completed Tougher Mudder

and raised £727.

Jessica Smith along with her

mum, Bev and brother Dylan

have set themselves a target to

loose 10 stone cumulatively and

are still raising funds.

Ryan Yates took on a Boxing

Match challenge and gave himself

just 6 weeks to train. Ryan raised

£620

Scott Tatton achieved his

challenge of a lifetime by

completing the Kilimanjaro Trek

and raised a whopping £1400.

New Project for 2017

Meet Lewis everyone. Lewis has complex medical needs

and along with his twin Luke, older brother Ryan and

Mum and Dad they were the first beneficiaries of a short

break to be funded through Project Charlie. The whole

family enjoyed a 5 day stay at Marton Mere Caravan Park.

Rest In Peace Sam

L-R Sam & Ollie

We were privileged to be

able to offer support to Sam

and his family via Project

Charlie. A wish to visit to

Harry Potter World was

granted in April 2017, sadly

Sam became too poorly and

so the trip had to be

cancelled. Sam

unfortunately lost his fight

with AML on 19th April

2017. Wipe Your Tears

continues to support Mum

and younger brother Ollie.

Since January 2016 we have sourced funding for 862 Cuddle Bags. Many thanks to individual and corporate sponsorship to help us to reach this amazing number. Our journey continues with Project Cuddle Bags, remember a bag can be sponsored for £60 helping a child to feel all is not lost.

Katie-Louise

Katie-Louise is a little girl who has

Cerebral Palsy and Dystonia.

Katie-Louise’s condition leaves her

in need of a Paediatric bed which

would assist her with her sleeping

and also grow with her. The bed is

height adjustable and profiling,

meaning this will minimise any

further risk or damage to her

parents backs. Her parents, Derek

and Victoria both suffer with back

injuries through having to lift Katie

-Louise in and out of her current

cot which is not suitable for her

condition. Wipe Your Tears were

thrilled to be able to raise enough

funds to pay for this piece of

medical equipment for home use

which was not available on the

NHS. The funds were raised via

The Spring Flower Dance 2017.

Derek and Victoria are thrilled to

know that Katie-Louise will now be

in a safe and comfortable

environment when she sleeps.

The Team Take To The Red Carpet

The Spring Flower

Dance 2017 took place

on the 7th April at The

Novotel, Worsley. 120

guests enjoyed a red

carpet champagne

reception and were

greeted with uplifting

sounds from Salford

Steel. The evening

consisted of a 3 course

meal, entertainment

from the children at TV

Talent & Drama, Zoe

Unsworth and the

award winning

Manhattans, raffle,

both silent and live

auctions. All funds

raised were in aid of

Katie-Louise’s appeal

and her need of a

paediatric bed costing

£4500. The total

amount raised on the

evening was £5400

which meant

Katie-Louise was able

to receive this vital

piece of medical

equipment on 31st May

2017.

Mum and Dad, Derek

and Victoria attended

the evening along with

Katie-Louise after

making the flight over

from Belfast. We would

like to thank HC1

Athletic for

sponsorship of the

families flights and

their sister company

HCS Northwest for the

provision of a beautiful

Rolls Royce to collect

the family from the

airport and for display

and use at The Spring

Flower Dance.

Sponsorship for the

event came from Daniel

Watson, Founder of

Vida Loca in Bolton

and Emma Ridgeway,

Owner of VITA Skills

in Manchester. Without

the support of these 2

sponsors and all of the

guests who attended,

the evening would not

have been the success it

was.

Wipe Your Tears are thrilled to be working with a local Fishing Club ‘Eccles Rod Benders’. We are proud to have sponsored the clubs shirts for the following 2 seasons ‘2017 – 2019’. In return, Wipe Your Tears Charity’s name will be displayed throughout the North West whilst club matches are taking place. The club has also organised a Charity Fishing Match as a Thank You. A word from the Founder of ERB “Feeling overwhelmed and also excited joining in to a partnership with Wipe Your Tears Childrens Charity. All the members are very grateful and proud to be wearing the Wipe Your Tears colours in the form of polo shirts provided. Thanks to all involved in the worthy charity, it’s remarkable how with a little help and a loving heart you can make a big difference in these children’s lives, which they deserve. Keep up the great work you are doing with the charity”. Colin ERB
