Pronouns take the Pronouns take the place of nouns.place of nouns. The word or phrase replaced by a pronoun is called an antecedentantecedent.

Used as the subject of the sentence

3. Object Pronouns
Used as direct objects, as indirect objects, or as the objects of prepositions
Scary stories fascinate us. Jen gave me a book on vampires. Can you read the story to them?

Used to show ownership or relationship
Remember, possessive pronouns NEVER use an apostrophe! I dropped my phone and broke its screen. That is his laptop.

5. Reflexive Pronouns
Directs the action of the verb back to the subject The winners considered themselves
