Ideas and suggestions

On e-learning• Experiences

Students do not like to be lectured Students like to do things and to see results from their work; they

rather do than study Students are over burdened with study work It adds to prestige; students like the technology.

Ideas and suggestions

On e-learning• Reasons for reluctant faculty

Often faculty is not supported in working with new technology Incentives for faculty to work with new technology are absent Senior faculty is unwilling to change old behavior and invest in

new curriculum (again no or little resources from faculty available)

For faculty there is little to win: new curriculum is more time consuming (requires daily attention to student questions).

cannot go around it…• a vision on how faculty needs to develop for the future

is required…• E-learning should support needs of faculty for

professional development...• Apart from hardware, significant investments in

humanware are required!
