Orienteering is a great way to get fit and enjoy the
natural beauty of the wetlands. It is a sport for all ages
and abilities. It combines map reading, decision making
and finding your way to checkpoints (called controls).
We now have a newly updated and marked
out orienteering course with a specially
designed topographical map all courtesy of:
Newcastle Orienteering ClubNewcastle Orienteering Club
The map (inside this brochure) shows
the location of checkpoints (numbered
1-12) which have the identifying bird
or animal name to be recorded at the
bottom of the map.
What to do?
Go at your own pace:
walking, jogging, running; or
a mix of all three.
Visit the controls in set
order or any order of your
choosing as you move
around the site.
Compete against yourself or
others or just use our
course as a family outing in
the great outdoors.
