HOMEWORK Check backpack for homework and spelling words Use identified “Spanish Connection” person for help with bilingual homework Double check homework for accuracy Ask for help from staff if needed

Writing• Journals in folders• Writing prompts• Editing tips
Math Basic Skill Work• Flash cards and mad minutes.
• Math games.
• Math supplemental worksheets.
Math Homework•Give the student time to process the question and strategies of getting to an answer. DO NOT GIVE THE STUDENT THE ANSWER.
•Ask them how their teacher explained it.
•Make sure you are using “Investigations thinking” to solve the problem.

Emergency Procedures
Volunteer Code of Ethics *To attend and complete the general training.*To arrive on time and be consistent in attendance. *Notify a staff member in advance if unable to attend a tutoring session.*Strive to improve my skills each week of tutoring. *Complete tutor and reading logs and student planner.*Communicate with REC staff in regards to any challenges.*Remember my role model status at all times.*Support and encourage positive behavior with students. *Report any suspicions a child is being abused or neglected. *Use appropriate touching and expressions of affection.*Always be in view of another adult when with a student. *Keep my relationship with any student to REC activities only. To not use, possess, or be under the influence of alcohol or illegal drugs during the hours of the REC program. _____
