Our intent is to improve our event delivery and to use local vendors and comply with the State

recommended best practiceThe state provided us a list of many other Cities

within NE and Central Florida who also have state license. Several examples are parks

designations as Civic Centers. (Attachment) (need to see these)

State requires City’s designation of a Civic Center via City Ordinance

Apply for Annual Consumption License with Civic Center designation $250

Permit required by State per event to sell - $25 (max of 15 annually)

State License Process as outlined by the State of Florida Statutes

Therefore$250 + (3 events X $25) = $325

annuallyvs. $1,550 for an unlimited retail license

Economics Gross Bar Sales by License Holder (out of town): Rock N’ Rib – $16,700 Seafood Festival (avg.) – $8,176 Int’l Food & Wine Festival (City only) – $6,508

City Estimated Expenses (2013 Rib Fest)- $6,200 $1,250 bar mgmt./staff, product $3,500 + rentals $1,500

Revenues reinvested into the events allow us to reduce prices

for guests i.e.: 2013 Rock N’ Rib $3 admission

Consistent with State requirements Maintains Central Park as our community gathering place
