Google often gives authenticated content a higher search ranking

because it is seen as original and trustworthy.

A rel=author tag allows you to authenticate content by linking

to a Google+ profile.

You can link from your site to your profile, using a re=author tag:

<ahref="[profile_url]?rel=author">Google</a>

Then create a reciprocal link in the ‘Contributor to’ section of

your profile.
